Because they are gonna be terrible.
handling business or not, their music was heading downhill.
Who's music was heading down hill??
death Row's wasn't....death Row was NOTORIOUS for missing deadlines, pushing projects back or on hold for whatver reason...Case and point Nate Doggs Album got shelved because Suge was mad at him for some dumb sh*t...Nate didn't get to really even finsih and polish his album...Pac died and Suge just put it out there.....Same with Lady of Rages album...he shelved it and sat on it...Pac died and then Suge just threw it out there...

Rage's lyrics were there but you could tell the album was half a.ssed. Their music wasn't going down hill...hell these were their first projects! They never even got a chance to shine on their own....DJ Quik backed off of fu*king with death Row because of the way Suge acted, He lost Dr. Dre because of the way he acted, Lost the DOC, RBX, Then lost Snoop and the damn Dogg Pound because of it.

That was the death Row...that was the "sound" and they lost it due to business not being handled....All have dropped either Classics (Kurupt, Dr. Dre) or ill a.ss albums (Snoop, Daz) after leaving death Row...there was no drop in the quality of music.

Until Nas brought them down with ether, that was the best thing that's ever happen and the beginning of the end of that record label (although I Love rocafella).
Nas took down Roc-a-Fella?!?!?!???
Soooo
Kanye's last 2 albums, Jay's last 2 albums, Cam'Ron's albums, Just Blaze becoming one of the most sought after producers, DJ Clue still being that n*gga for Mixtapes, State Property, and the movies under Rocafella constitute as "falling apart after Ether??

we all know that Nas had nothing to do with the Roc falling apart

Def Jam IMO shouldn't be here, they were like a parent hiphop label, sort of like how death Row was a subsidary of Interscope/Universal. Def Jam artists repped their own subsidaries not Def Jam per say (well except for LL)

So with that out the way, death Row, Aftermath (even though they had 3 big artists at their time: Dre, Em, 50), G-Unit circa 2005, Cash Money early 2000's, and honorable mention to No Limit!

Business or not, their music is still the best and that's what I Care about, put that business bullsh*t aside

while gay-unit aka g-unit's music sucked horribly, sure they were businessman, but musicwise, they were horrible, especially mobb deep who completely sold out their longtime fans for commercialized ignorant g-unit stans and horrible back 7 years ago.

Oh Yes he did, Nas's ether was the beginning of the end of rocafella and that song was the truth.

They all suck! Only one good right now and somewhat credible is Def Jam. But even then I wouldn't want to go with them if I was a new artist.

All of them are washed up and out of there prime.

Why wasn't stones throw an option in this poll?

Sure they dominated, but their music (except for straight outta cashville) have been nothing but dreadful (and next to YMCMB and limp bizkit, one of the worst things that's ever happen to the music industry) and lack substance and true talent, something death row records, D Block and some others have.
I Don't hate them for making money, what I Do hate about them is making bad music, cause they are just like YMCMB, No Limit, they sucked a.ss.
what? cmon now, I see you're taking this anti-G Unit sh*t to the extreme.

they fell off yea but No Mercy No Fear, 50 Cent Is The Future, God's Plan, the first few G-Unit Radio mixtapes, Banks solo debut, Get Rich or Die Trying (50's debut and the soundtrack,) and Beg For Mercy sucked?

Ruff Ryders was never under Def Jam....do your research before you type some dumb sh*t
My bad.......You may be right. I f...d up........maybe I'm was confused because the mutha...... that carried Ruff Ryders was definitely signed to DEF JAM. Is that correct or do I need to do more research on that?

Since Def Jam is really a parent company to these other companies and there should be some other parent companies mentioned as well in the convo......

Def Jam and it's not even debatable

death row had a 4 yr run (92-96) and it was a wrap

No Limit??? Find somebody outside the south that can name 2 songs from ANY No Limit album
I live in Kansas City and copped damn near every No Limit album that they were dropping at the time. And people forget Snoop dropped one of his better albums on No Limit (The game is to be sold not to be told). No Limit was popping every but the NY area. That goes to show how some n*ggas don't know what the fu*k they talkin bout. Everybody around the country, except NY, area fu*ked with No Limit heavy.

Another reason No Limit might be the greatest is damn near every indie label after them pretty followed the No Limit blueprint. Even copying the No Limit style album covers. And for them n*ggas to be a major player in hiphop out of New Orleans with no real NY/LA backing is also note worthy.
