deathrow, No Limit, Rap-A-Lot, Loud & PRIORITY (can't believe nobody mentioned them)

but seriously to the OP, naming Cash Money and posting that pic is fu*kin ignorant and shows your age.
They should've renamed the label after Mannie left...Cash Money is and always was Big Tymers and Hot Boys...nobody else after that...fu*k anyone else, and fu*k Wayne now...shameful

G was on Def Jam, but gave his greatest single to deathrow

deathrow offered to sign him before Def Jam, but Dre told him not to sign, so G was left broke living on his sisters couch, then Pac called him and asked him to make him a beat, the song was Definition of a Thug n*gga, and Warren G got his first cheque

In terms of producer deathrow had it locked from Dre to Daz to DJQuick

They had the DOC in his prime ghost writing

The talent was just on another level, and the fact they were all so tight like one family makes it even more amazing

Warren G though singly handily saved Def Jam from going bankrupt, his album sold like 10 mil and that the time Def Jam was about to fold and was in the red.

However I don't really regard Def Jam as a single entity because they had a lot of Under the umbrella labels as oppose to rappers reppin Def Jam. Rocafella didnt like reppin Def Jam, Dame didnt even want their logo on anything of Rocafella.

Really??? This is really an argument? Def Jam, no doubt. Rocafella was under Def Jam, so was Ruff Ryders. No Limit? Cash Money? What-the-f-ever! You n*ggas gay......You really are questioning this sh*t? They all made money but remember that Jay, Kanye, DMX, LL, all them n*ggas is Def Jam. How far does that go back, 85?????
Ruff Ryders was never under Def Jam....do your research before you type some dumb sh*t

Def Jam and death Row, with No Limit following them. Didn't the old No Limit sell like 100 mil worldwide before the big break up?

Def Jam was so big it's really unfair to compare them to the others.. Plus they had atleast a 10 year headstart on everyone.

As far as any of the others, death Row by a fu*kin landslide..

Snoop Pac and Dre is all that needs to be said, it's like have Jordan,Larry and Magic on the same squad.

aftermath

The Chronic, Slim Shady LP, Get Rich Or Die Tryin, Documentary, Good kid maad city

> the debut albums were ALL amazing
Bruh....Aftermath is a fu*king grave yard!
Plus they werent that potent in the game...they mainly had good timing when they came into it so alot of bullsh*t sold...their little bit of influence was pretty much OVER and done with in s few short years....and they still had to compete for attention from Rocafella .

Def Jam got this on LOCK
LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Red Man, Ghost Face k!llah, Method Man, Warrem G, DMX, Busta Rhymes,Ludacris, Nas....No Body else comes CLOSE...Look How m any generations that is...trend setters, they set the standard. Def Jam is #1

#2 is Between No Limit and Roc-a-Fella tho (Who where under Def Jam)

death Row SHOULD have been an easy number 2 and battling for #1 but they fu*ked the lable up...The mishandling of The Lady of Rage and Nate Dogg's albums, NO sophomore efforts from anyone except 2Pac and Snoop (and that album from Snoop was a.ss)....the lack of other projects (I.E. the HELTER SKELTER album from Dr. Dre and Ice Cube never came to be) We didn't get the 213 album until YEARS later and it wasn't out of the death Row camp when it did drop. death Row is the PERFECT example of how to have the game on smash and fu*k it up by doing dumb a.ss counter productive bullsh*t and not handling business.
