When it comes to longevity, only people from Louisiana and those who were exposed to them know that Cash Money had really been a force since the beginning...I'm talking from UNLV's first single "another b*tch" in '93 to the popularity of Wayne, Drake and Nicki, and that includes today...
I wanted to say Def Jam because I hadn't seen more legends and influences from another label. You can ask ANYONE on any of the other labels named, and I bet they'll say they were inspired by someone signed to Def Jam in the 80's

The words "Best" and "No Limit" could NEVeR be usd in the same sentence...UNLESS you're saying No Limit was the best label at making bullsh*t album after bullsh*t album!

And, Def Jam as a label will always be first...followed by death Row, Bad Boy, Roc...the rest, uh, whatever order you'd prefer

....No Limit.

*The Hits
*The Roster
*The Supply of Music Almost Monthly
*Merchandise (Clothing Line etc)

Its Either No Limit & Def Jam....Nothing Else. Cash Money Just Now Getting Their Shine, Badboy Gave Us Biggie, Mase, Black Rob and Some Bad Contracts. Roc Only Gave Us Just Blaze & Kanye...Thats It. Why Is The Roc Even Mention?

Def jam because of the all-around

dynamics of a record label

you not asking about my fav artist's label_u talkin history, hit record count, # of famous artists, and how future rap n*ggas bit their style
this. as much as I loved the roc and ruff ryders in their day, they were under def jam ( well at, least DMX was) so how can not go with def jam. Russell created the blueprint for this hip hop mogul thing. Def Jam has survived every era. Crews and labels have come and gone, but def jam is still here.

At their height, no one was fu*king with the ROC in my opinion. Especially when Cam signed and the Dips dropped that Diplomatic Immunity... gotdamn that was a dope era in Rap.

def jam and it's not close. it's actually not fair to include def jam because they were an actual LABEL not a clique or posse that depended on one main artist for the rest to thrive. they also had ruff ryders and rocafella apart of their roster sooooo....
