Pretty much..

Its like n*ggas wanna have their cake and eat it too..

They don't wanna come out of pocket to financially support this genre the supposedly love... But then wanna control and dictate whats being sold..

Cant have it both ways..
All you had to say...

Blame n*ggas for not buying music..

There's one thing that dictates what happens in all music..

[pic - click to view]

They know that the concept of buying music, has become a running joke to a big majority of the urban community and youth..

So why the labels spend money to cater to them? They gon cater to those white folks who are gonna take their iTunes gift cards and actually buy some sh*t..

When black folks had no choice but to buy music, we controlled and dictated our own culture.. Now that we don't, we've lost it..

If you don't see the correlation, you're blind..

its not even that totally.. fact is music has gradually declined in the last 20 yrs,and when you take into account the roc n roll and blues side its pretty much a repeat of that just a diff genre. someone builds it up and then its sold and the creators no longer have control.
they cant stop the hood but they sure a fuc can try to contain that sh*t.

look at tech n9ne.. 80% of his fan base are white, but he didnt jump into the realm of being known like he is now untill he started messin with ICP. none of these kids gave a sh*t about tech when he came out.

The "real" sh*t will always be around....it just won't be in the mainstream. This happens to every genre of music eventually. It happened to Rock, Jazz, Country, etc....fans of "real" Country music hate Taylor Swift (rightfully so ), fans of "real" Jazz hated David Sanborn and Kenny G, fans of "real" Rock hate Fall Out Boy, etc, etc............

The "mainstream" has never really been as good as the underground in any genre.....the mainstream is commercial, not artistic. It has always been like this

when you think about it...most of the mainstream...which is mostly black people(you have like 4 white guys in there be honest ) make party sh!t.

when have you really seen face/nas make music like that outside of a song here or there

he can't just be talking about maklemoore and mac miller here

Naw he isn't right, rap is the way it is because once the south started to pop with the crunk music and snap music, Wayne started to pop and said he was the best and everyone believed it but he set the bar very low cause his music was actually really sh*tty C3 and beyond. But anyway yo Scarface need to stop telling us that hip-hop sucks, and start showing us. Not on some KRS-One sh*t telling us how great you are over the track, actually show us how great you are.

Yeah, but more black people show up for Gucci Mane shows, and more white people show up for Talib Kweli shows. By the time Kendrick Lamar is Talib's age it could possibly be the same dynamic for him.

Its not just hip hop but music in general.

Ask Justin Timberlake and Adele. The game has been flipped and hip hop...you're next.

of course partially true, but it's easy to put the blame on others...at the end of the day, each person is capable to make the music they want...the black rappers on labels etc. can leave the label and make the music they want...+ there are so many upcoming/amateur rappers that copy those popular styles..it's easy to put all the blame on the ones creating the styles, but it might be an idea to look at those following as well

Take it how you want to, but the music industry is a BUSINESS first and foremost

They in the business of making money.

They not gonna cater to or even give a fu*k about the opinion of a demographic who aint gonna put money in their pockets..
