majority of crimes, murders, and deaths by weapons are caused by pistols. at the close range in this situation the 'better chance' wasn't there. at close range .223 usually travels at such a high capacity since it has so much energy it leaves a smaller wound, compared to a .45 acp.

i guess you didnt know that the 2nd amendment doesnt even have anything to do with "general use."

I think it was Jefferson who said "the beauty of the 2nd amendment is that it doesnt need to be used until someone tries to take it away." That basically explains the 2nd Amendment's purpose in a nutshell... it aint got sh*t to do with hunting or "general use." lol
im sorry but the same people who thought it was ok to have slaves thats who youre getting your logic from

1 the supreme court has already stated that just like the 1st amendment there are limitations to the second amendment

2 the language in the constitution speaks of forming a well regulated militia what entity in this country is responsible for regulation

The point is; you're talking out of your a.ss without knowing the full details of an incident you are trying to cite as an example.

If you firmly believe this will prevent "another Sandy Hook", you're undeniably delusional.

Adam Lanza was denied his purchases, broke into a safe, stole the guns, k!lled his mom, then traveled into not one, but 2 "gun free" school zones, decided on the elementary school, shot his way in, and you know the rest.

In my line of work, that's 1.5 dozen felony offenses. The laws prevented nothing..

The point is; there's evil out there, and there always will be. Hindering the non-evils rights in such a way that they cannot adequately protect themselves from the evil, is not going to make incidents like this go away. What they are proposing in general will make thinks worse for the people who just want to defend themselves.. That's what isn't hard to understand. Violent crime and murder are actually declining, and have been.

Don't be one of them progressive knee-jerk,-misinformed,-useful idiots.
Talking out of my a.ss? Tell me anything I said that wasn't that factual. I'll wait. Exactly, you have nothing. Try again.

Just like so many gun enthusiasts, you're using the faulty logic of since it won't stop all violent crimes we should do nothing. I guess you also think seat belts are useless since it won't stop all reckless drivers and accidents.

Again, the point is prevention and minimizing risk. There are steps you can take to help prevent these tragedies like expanded background check. And yes, expanded background checks would have helped in VT and Aurora. Both were flagged as mentally ill and a danger to others and legally purchase guns AFTER being flagged.

There are steps you can take to help minimize risk. If something does go wrong, you don't want a k!ller to be able to murder a mass number of people before anybody can respond. Why do you think the VT shooting led to colleges implementing emergency notification system? Because the failure to notify students led to more deaths. Would expanded background checks prevent Sandy Hook? Depends on which state you're talking about. Would a limit on high capacity ammo have minimized the amount of deaths? Of course. It's not rocket science. The less ammo you have to shoot in a short amount of time, the less people you can k!ll in a short amount of time.

Now come back with the faulty logic of gun laws are going disarm all the law abiding citizens and let the criminals run wild with no facts to sustain your claim.

It's a debate because there has not been one city or state that has the stricter gun laws that shows a correlation to lesser crime. D.C. did it, gun crime, increased, same for N.O. and Chicago. There is not one instance where the stricter laws caused lower gun crimes. All it has done was disarm the citizens who follow the laws and arm the people who don't follow the laws.
That's because you can always travel 10 mins to the next town without gun laws and purchase guns. This is what happens in Chicago. It's called straw purchases.

So why not go after these criminals...

Like we are the bombers???

_____________

If we treated homicides in Chicago even with a 1/4 of the effort that we put these terrorist attacks, we would be seeing a different story with gang violence and gun crimes...

We can't go after these criminals without stricter gun control. Going after these criminals would mean you would have to impose gun laws that say you are responsible for your weapon and must report it stolen or lost in a timely manner. NRA won't let background checks pass so they're definitely not going to let a law requiring gun liability to pass

So you admit that its useless? I guarantee that if you impose gun carry laws gun crime in chicago will go down just like it did in Michigan, Texas, Florida, etc.
We're talking federal regulation here. Not city or state wide regulation. City or state regulation is useless because one can always travel a couple of mins to another and purchase guns with less restrictive laws. You can't do that with federal regulation because it applies to all states. US guns laws so lax that mass k!llers from other countries come here to purchase guns and ammo.

If you to look at the effects of nationwide gun control, look at the UK or Australia

What? we dont need to have stricter pressure cooker/nails/ball bearings laws to stop bombs from blowing up??

We have laws that say you need to be responsible w/ your gun? besides the fact it's common fu*kin sense... duh.
& it is a law that you need to report your gun stolen.. Who doesn't report a burglary?

______

Background checks aren't gonna stop those straw purchasers you were talking about... So your going in the wrong direction... We need to combat the criminal...

No one from other countries are getting guns and ammo here... Unless the president send them automatic machine guns... You make so much sh*t up....

Citizens can't even get ammo here... you have zero idea what is goin on do you... If you did, you'd know that even ammo now is selling like crazy... Hardly can find 22 bullets. even here In Wisconsin...

________

Now, to some up what your bi*ching about... Is that the criminal, will do what ever it takes to accomplish the illegal activity... Regardless Of any Background check or Fed Regulation... They are goin to get the illegal gun...
SO why do we not go after the criminals.. You know the ppl who are committing the crimes (out of the 1500 felons that got caught trying to buy illegal guns, the O-Team only prosecuted 44.... WTF... SET and example... Right??)
ain't no 500+ arrest for all the murders in ChIraq... We hardly prosecuting anyone it seems...

and so you know out of all the ppl who have a Concealed Carry Permit only .18% commit any gun crimes...

What does pressure cooker have to do with gun control? Stop trying to bring up unreleated events because you have no facts.

And since we already have laws requiring people to report stolen or lost guns, post them and their penalties. If you purchased a lot of guns and they're used in a crime by someone else, all you have to do is say you lost them and you're free from any blame.
