I have no sympathy. I'm sure Nike cracked down on the shady businesses and hopefully left the legit ones standing. If not, oh well.

Funny but true. We have accounts and some of the Mom and Pops are the ones that don't settle their accounts. They order lots of merch, sell it and never handle the p.o.'s. I'm sure Nike realized it costs to ship merch to them and extends net 30 to the store only to be sh*tted on. Check at JJC Premium Outerwear at JJCnow.com.

I think if Nike was terminating accounts because of foul play they would be very specific about why. Nike is dropping accounts because they see the demand and realized that they can keep more of the money if they just distribute it themselves and cut out the middle man. Just my guess tho.
Word, I wondered about that for a while. I suppose mom & pop shops get merchandise from the company at a cheaper price and then they're able to sell it for however much they want (based on supply & demand). Nike probably figured they'd make more money selling the sneakers themselves or to companies like footlocker, champs, etc.. I'm fine with it, it puts an end to paying above retail prices. I hope that's what this means, because if not, I will be changing my style up.

Gentrification
 Michael Wilson said:
Gentrification is a dynamic that emerges in poor urban areas when residential shifts, urban planning, and other phenomena affect the composition of a neighborhood. Urban gentrification often involves population migration as poor residents of a neighborhood are displaced. In a community undergoing gentrification, the average income increases and average family size decreases. This generally results in the displacement of the poorer, pre-gentrification residents, who are unable to pay increased rents, and property taxes, or afford real estate. Often old industrial buildings are converted to residences and shops. New businesses, which can afford increased commercial rent, cater to a more affluent base of consumers—further increasing the appeal to higher income migrants and decreasing the accessibility to the poor. Often, resident owners unable to pay the taxes are forced to sell their residences and move to a cheaper community.

if i did business with a store in a neighborhood which was in the process of being gentrified, and that business relied on me for 75-80% of their sales, why is it so far fetched that i would cut them off let them loose their lease and have one of my partners in crime (footlocker/finishline/champs) have the spot that they built up

i live in harlem and i seen the sh*t happen, ^mike thats a fairly accurate definition but its a whole bunch of other shady sh*t that you left out for example govt making it so uncomfortable that you wanna move

I'm kinda glad because that raffle ticket mess was just just like gambling at a casino....you lose more than you win. It shouldn't be that hard to get a pair of shoes.

i think it has something to do with these crazy a.ss prices these lil stores have. major shoe chains like footlock, finishline, footaction charge retail, but these little stores charge r*pe prices on limited releases and end up making more money off the product than nike does. when the yeezy 2's dropped athlete's foot here didn't let a shoe go for less than 1K. greed cause this and thats what these mutha fu*kers get
If they told me a stack a pair is walking up out there and I aint paying sh*t

I love how the majority of the people on this thread are all for it lol... ya really believe Nike is cutting out it's middle men to sell you sneakers at CURRENT RETAIL prices?

LMAO

They are going to cut the middle men alright and JACK up the prices themselves.
