right about what? lol... when i said whats the difference I ment as in how it is made, get that through your brain.
It is!

Anybody who ever lived in the hood should know this.

If you don't live in the hood. Have you at least seen get rich or die trying?

Why do you think drugs dealers started selling crack to begin with. That sh*t get people hooked within 5 minutes. When with coke it may have taken weeks, maybe months.

anyways, as far as this is concerned...

the real reason x couldn't solidify himself as the GOAT is due to him not putting forth the same effort musically. and whether jay had him blackballed or not is irrelevant. by the time YOTDA came out, he was a shell of his former self musically.

or did you forget that he dropped 2 consecutive bland albums prior to jay becoming president... starting with the great depression, which was nowhere near the level of his first 3 albums, especially on the beats.

then he dropped grand champ (2003), which was slightly better than GD, but again, very bland by x standards. at that point hip hop was also shifting it's attention to the new "it" rapper of the moment, 50 cent. most of x's old fans became 50 fans.

then (with the exception of 1 song on vol 4) we didn't get so much as a guest verse from x for 3 years.

and once YOTDA did drop, it was destined to fail.... because that sh*t was just plain TERRIBLE. wack beats, wack verses... need i say more?

x had destroyed his own career at that point, mainly due to crack. point blank.

End thread. No way did Jay-Z shelve X out of fear, he did it because his material was sh*t. And granted, Jay wasn't a good president, but this one is NOT on him.

i a.ssume that's what you meant when you mentioned more marketing for YOTDA.

like seriously, how exactly does one market a sh*tty album with no real singles???

the fact that monstrosity barely missing #1 by a couple hundred copies says alot about how loyal x's core fanbase was to support that bullsh*t and how much of a fu*k up x really is.

dont get me wrong YOTD was a terrible album. but it still done numbers with minimal promotion

if the project wasnt "blackballed" so to speak, it would of done more... no?

August 1, 2006 Year of the Dog... Again 125,000 fw

you think the project didn't sell because it was blackballed??? so what were the excuses for grand champ and great depression under performing???

and then you're going to compare that to jay, who's albums have always been like events???

x didn't sell because the fans were sick and tired of being fed bland a.ss albums by him.

same thing happened to 50.

"Talking bout Kiss, DMX when he was fu*kin' wit coke" Dum Out-Joe Budden

^^ even other rappers have pointed it out in song.

are you fu*king kidding me???

the fact that crack gives you a faster high while it's effects wear off quicker, requiring the fiend to take multiple hits in order to get the same high they'd normally get from just a line of coke, makes it waaaaay more addicting and raises it's OD probability ten fold.

smoking weed mixed with coke, although dangerous and addicting, is far less dangerous than fu*king smoking crack.

now put that in your glass d!ck and smoke it.
i a.ssume that's what you meant when you mentioned more marketing for YOTDA.
