Some of you have very loose standards for being a classic, can't tell of you're a troll or not

You should. I wish they'd get back together

I am cool with the list. Food and Liquor retail was not classic. Food and Liquor The Leak was classic. I remember seeing Kick Push on MTV/BET and I though it was an alright track. I wasn't on BX back then, but I was seeing Lupe heat up nobodysmiling.com. I dl the leak and I listened to Theme Music to a drive by and I was sold. I knew the rest of the cd was going to be heat and it didn't disappoint. I went back and dl'ed all the 1st & 15th joint and I was like this ninja is a monster. The Cool was an excellent follow up album and I think it will be appreciated more over time. I don't be tripping when artists switch up after years in the game, because they are not in the same space and position as they were when they were young and hungry.

Honorable mention for down south classics: Pastor Troy - We Ready I declare war and
Playa Fly - Movin On

50 Cent's Get Rich... has a real sh*tty Metacritic score to be considered a classic. Also, the second half is pretty boring compared to the opening tracks which are fire.

As for College Dropout..too many sh*tty skits and also: Workout Plan. I'd only consider it classic because of the memories I have with this record. It was a good time when it dropped and I played the album so many times...

Little Brother? Eh, that was a very good concept album, but it had exactly 0 impact on the rap scene and it has changed absolutely nothing.

Perfect album with perfect play time. None of the filled 60 minutes+ records, straight to the point, one of the best productions and Common goes in on every track. It could be the modern Illmatic.

i agree you can call a album a classic but unless it had impact on the masses its not really a classic both YE and 50 first albums did have a impact so those are classic not to say all albums who don't have a impact are not classic its just not a classic on a major scale...to me Carter 2 would have being a classic if he had left the Mannie Fresh tracks on it but overall its a great album

to me a classic album has to be not only amazing but timeless also. no matter how old it gets you can still pop it in and it still gives you the same experience as the first time you listened to it
College Drop out is NOT a classic. Breathe in Breathe out took that away from it....

The Carter II is a classic.. impact and no skippable track(s)

Im thinking GRODT is classic, impact is clearly there but idk about skippable tracks

I think Take Care is a classic but its too soon to tell.

a classic has to have social impact within its genre at least (at time of release or later),
0 skippable tracks
timeless in the sense that the album as whole isn't exploiting a niche sound that is currently popular at the time its made
less than 50% feats for a solo project.

Believe it or not food & liquor and college dropout arent classics. Thug motivation get rich and ministrel show are
When this album was released back in 2004. It had hype around it but it wasnt to the point if get rich or die trying hype. This album is a near classic yes but not a classic. There are a few weak cuts on it and some unwarranted skits on it that just stops it from being a classic. Workout plan is one of the weak cut and breathe in breathe out. Also it has alot of features while thats not a bad thing it kinda hurts tge credibility of an artist making a masterpeice by his self. The album had hella replay value but it just didnt feel classic and thats whT stops it. Its a near classic along with the documentary. Album gets a 9.50
