never really cared for little brother. It kinda seemed weird to see them on the list considering everyone else is mainstream.

Id like to add a couple underground classics:
Evidence - The Weatherman lp
Brother Ali - Shadows on the Sun
Blu - Below the Heavens
Jon Connor - The Calling

And I think Jezzy's Inspiration ablum was a classic b4 101

Classic albums aren't subjective, you can't go off your own opinion when deciding if something is classic

It's how the masses as a whole interpret the album over time.

If you feel something is classic just to YOU then you can always call it a "personal" classic.

I dunno if I'd call Minstrel Show a classic due to lack of overall impact

College Dropout though I probably would call a classic.
i agree you can call a album a classic but unless it had impact on the masses its not really a classic both YE and 50 first albums did have a impact so those are classic not to say all albums who don't have a impact are not classic its just not a classic on a major scale...to me Carter 2 would have being a classic if he had left the Mannie Fresh tracks on it but overall its a great album

to me a classic album has to be not only amazing but timeless also. no matter how old it gets you can still pop it in and it still gives you the same experience as the first time you listened to it

Man look a classic to me is an album that stands the test of time.....none of these are that old to be in that category.
For me a lp has to be at least 8- 10 years old for it to be a classic imo

Kid Cudi's first album had multiple skippable tracks though. if that's a classic, we need to toss that word out of the lexicon.

I agree with you on this.

Take out Reasonable Doubt and the thread is golden.
RD is a classic by the people whether you like or not. Plus it wasn't even on this list!

Take out Ross's first album and put Trilla/Deeper Than Rap and I agree with this list.
More so Deeper Than Rap cause that's what really gave Ross that extra appeal.

I agreed with you for a second.

But when you made this dumb a.ss statement I went right back to taking you as a clown.

I hope you're trolling or something.

Man on the moon 1 wasn't a classic is one statement I could have let rock.

But it had skippable tracks?

Leave the hip-hop culture alone to the real fans because you probably like garbage music any way. Go fu*k with some other genre of music so they can out cast you from their genre as well. Im totally revoking you hip-hop card until further notice. Like everything you say about rap until further notice is now null and void.

I mean MOTM 1 is one of those albums you play when your having a terrible day and you can let the whole album play and somewhere by the end of it you feel a bit better. HEck even MOTM 2 barley had any skippable tracks, I could argue that their is none but it was a bit more experimental and the fans might not like all of that.

Now his rock album that was trash!

But cmon!

The rap game has changed in such a way that we have neglected to give some of the more recent masterpieces their proper due. Albums have came and changed the game and we just look at them as run of the mill, never talking about them with the aforementioned.
This is the truth. There are a lot of great and some classic albums that have been released in the last 5 years or so but the way everything is now every album gets hated on and compared to a sound that's 20 years old...

Hip Hop needs to let go of the past

Unfortunately because Breathe In Breathe Out was so horrible. I still haven't listened to that track all the way thru.

I think F&L had some skippable tracks too. I gotta go look thru the album again

Haven't listened to Jeezy enough, but the other 4 albums in the post are all classics.

And yes, Little Brother has 2 classic albums easily.
