Am i missing something? im seeing all these good reviews, but it sounds like complete trash to me. Is it something that you cant just jump into if ive never listened to him before. Is it a style that only a select group feel, and only that group is writing reviews? i dunno man, its just not for me, im willing to give it a few more listens but it hurts my ears.

Finished listening. 3/5 for me. Only a few tracks stand out. Its nowhere near as good as Goblin...

You can hear the growth in his production for sure tho. The production is fu*kin great for the most part. its a 4.5/5 production wise to me. sh*t knocks.

But the songs just arent all that great...his rhymes dont exactly save anything either.

Overall its just average. It wasnt as cohesive as Goblin or as good period. a step back for Tyler IMO.

STANDOUT TRACKS: Cowboy, Domo23, Answer, Bimmer, Pigs, Rusty, Tamale, Lone

Still got faith in Earl's upcoming sh*t tho.

3/5. Like dude said before me, production carries the album (expected), but Tyler is just not a good rapper He can make a good song every now and then though. There's some great moments, and when he lets other people shine it really takes off. I would of liked more Domo, more ignorant Left Brain, Syd, whoever. But he's just kind of repeating the same tired sh*t he has before on most of the tracks, lyrics wise. But his production has definitely improved, I'd like to see him fall back and produce more for other people. We get it, your dad left (join the club), your grandparent died (join the club), you weren't a preppy popular kid in school (join the club), etc. He should stick to creative ways to talk about trying to get pus*y (Bimmer), and just trying to be clever and funny. That whining, i need an inhaler sh*t, this is my life sh*t is tired breh. It also kind of pisses me off he kept addlibbing over Earl's verse. Let that boy rap motherfu*ker. But yeah... beast on the boards, meh on the mic. Kind of a whatever album. Bastard still his best

Yeah, I give it a 3/5 just off the production alone which is solid as fu*k. Kid can play his a.ss off on piano and making melodies and working synths and airy pads. But rapping wise he's still remedial as fu*k. It takes away from his growth as a musician imo. I mean, the first track, "Wolf" is like an entire metaphor for the entire album. Him just fu*king around half a.ss singing is funny still, but at the same time, it just shows that he has no business doing vocals over his sh*t. If he would just produce an album, have a few small parts in songs and let other artists perform vocals over his production he'd make a good a.ss album. Maybe if he matures more and gets over the emo pseudo-Marshall Mathers LP "omg critics think i'm immature and racey and I hate being famous" sh*t he can grow. But that'll probably come with age and experience. But honestly I can see him quiting before he reaches that.

Reading through this thread, I can see a few people are struggling with his growth. It's like what he says in Rusty
"Analog" fans are getting sick of the r*pe
All the "Tron Cat" fans are getting sick of the lakes
As people were saying before it dropped, he can't stick to rapping about that off-beat sh*t, now he's just rapping and it being called on it. He's in a no win situation. I'd actually say this album is more honest than Goblin. It's a whole less gimmicky. Definitely above average for me, but by no means great.
