Wayne only rapper where fans say sh*t like "he saved the good songs for the next album"

"oh it's ok he flopped this is not a carter series"

It's still a fu*kin album.....Not a mixtape

Let's be real here. The first I Am Not A Human Being was basically just tossed out there, with very little promo or single airplay, and sold about the same as this one. People are comparing the two, when this one was clearly far more heavily promoted. A single with Future & Drake, who are two of the biggest mainstream stars at the moment. No Worries & Curtains were given every chance to become smash hits. And he enlisted Gunplay, 2 Chainz, Juicy J, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj, and Soulja Boy. Wayne did with this album what 50 did with Before I Self Destruct, tried to give the fans what they claimed they wanted, a straight up rap album. He didn't have that major crossover single, so his sales went back down.

Wayne stans don't like to hear this, but it isn't a million hardcore hip-hop heads that went and bought C3 & C4 first week. I have friends who don't even listen to rap who bought both of those albums, because Wayne was at his peak mainstream popularity and they actually liked Lollipop & How To Love. I've always maintained that if Wayne had to rely strictly on his rap fans to buy LPs, he wouldn't sell all that much. But, because a lot of Wayne fans don't like to hear about quality when they debate, they always turn to record sales. Now, the sales are down, and it's every excuse in the book. A new Wayne album is a new Wayne album, regardless of the title, if people were truly interested, they would have copped, it's not like they threw it out there without promotion.

Just admit that without a song where he sings the whole time and gets on Top 40 radio that he doesn't move the same amount of units or command the same level of attention. It's not the end of the world. He just doesn't have the same drive or hunger, he's made it, his place in the pantheon of rap is secure. Wayne simply has nothing left to prove and it shows in the music. He clearly would rather be doing other things, and I don't fault him for that. But all of the excuses need to stop, everyone's time as top dog comes to an end. Maybe he proves me wrong and does a million again off C5, but I guarantee it won't be without a smash hit crossover single, more than likely with him singing.

Go look at EVERY first week projection thread, and compare it to what the album actually sold first week..

Its NEVER off by more than 50k units..

Sorry to break it to you...
True, these projections always seem to be close to the total sales.

A lot of people thought it was funny when Carter IV was projected to sell around 600K, but then mysteriously sold over 900K in the first week.

That's probably the only album I've seen "sell" that much more than the projected amount.

is weezy the only one who cops his albums den?

when kanye and jay drop albums do they cop theirs? people say DefJam have done it time and time again...

why doesnt 50 just drop an album and cop his own records

can u explain to me how one cops his own albums, do they go to one store and put in a order for a million?

i agree with u on IANHAHB is seen somewhat like a mixtape of wackness
I don't know exactly how labels fabricate sales or who actually buys the albums, but it's been a rumored industry practice for a long time.

Same with payola and paying stations to play certain records.

wow that's horrible for wayne and this album has had better singles then the Carter IV. When the Carter 3 came out and did those ridiculous numbers, I believed it cuz that n*gga had more hype then anyone that year. I don't think the label was buying his cds or anything but that he really was that popular at the time. but the carter 4, I didn't believe those numbers at all. I thought he would do around 700k cuz I felt like drake had a bigger buzz then and he still had a lot less sales. the singles on this album I actually liked and then plus his overdose, I thought hed do around 700k cuz of his name, the hit singles, and the news about the overdose so im surprised.
