16 in 2000.

From 16-18, my favorite rapper was definitely Styles P. Hands the fu*k down.

Now- Meh.... nobody really. I hardly even listen to n*ggas I like anymore. Rap hasn't grown at all. I mostly listen to old sh*t. I fu*k with Spitta now I guess.. but outside of that.. fu*k it.

y'all some old a.ss n*ggas
shouldn't the question be what rapper were you listening to the most at 16-18? I figure you dont really change favorite rapper because my favorite rappers are still Ice cube, Jay-Z, BTNH, Snoop but at that moment I was playing Chamillionaire's mixtapes on heavy rotation

16-18 would have been '91-'93 for me.....favorite emcee hands down at that point was Ice Cube. At that time though I wouldn't had said so, we didn't really think about a favorite rapper. Guru, Treach, Chuck D, Rakim, Kool G, MC Ren, Snoop, Q-Tip, Phife, Cl Smooth, B Real, Redman, Wu tang and many more all got attention

Nowadays, on any given day probably a toss up between Nas, Lupe and Budden. Like I said though the whole favorite rapper thing is weird to me because I listen to a range of stuff and I go in phases. Recently its been Cyhi, ASAP Rocky and Danny Brown. Some weeks it could be Banks or Pusha or Drake or Kanye or Method Man. I am not as elitist as I was when I was younger but it still comes down to lyricism and delivery for me. And when I say lyricism I do not mean there has to be super deep content. It's about how much effort they have put into stringing those words together even if they are talking about some foul sh*t. Always been true for me.

pretty much what i was gonna say, i was 16 in 91 and was listening to all the above all i listened to was "East Coast" back then, because, that's where I was born and raised. Cube was my favorie West Coast, I think the only other West artist I listened to was Too $hort.

I didn't notice West/South until I moved to KY after graduation in 93, then i started to have a different point of view or appreciation for artists/music outside the East Coast.

this stuff nowadays tho Don't get me wrong, I will play a Gucci or Chief Keef cd, sure but they really add no value to my life other than something for background noise.

The younger folks these days missed out on the the real positive and meaningful music we had and it is kinda our duty on BX and home to let em check it out.
My kids hear my "Old School" Pandora Station in the car and home all the time.

It was probably a tie between Jay (Vol.2/Streetz Iz Watching) and DMX (I think he dropped 2 albums in 98), but I was also bumping Hot Boys/Cash Money, No Limit was on the way out, ATCQ has the Love Movement, Devin and Nore had bangers too
