obviously i understand the story is true......... just seems like some of the storylines were so hyperbolic and unbelievable seems like some of the minor details might have been stretched a little.. maybe not
Which story? I didn't see the 30 for 30 tonight I gotta watch it later but I did know a little about Jimmy V.

I don't know why but that speech never got me like that. I'll go watch it again when I watch the 30 for 30. This seems like it should be one of the better 30 for 30s.

Oh for anybody trying to catch the others they are on Netflix and of course many other places on the internet

The espy speech never gets me either but him crying after the game when they interviewed him and he was overcome with emotions and joy def had me

Him talking at the 10 or 20 whatever year anniversary speech at ncst after he'd been patronized and sh*t had me on the brink too

Right up there as one of my favorites of the series. To see Jimmy hobble up to that podium and then deliver one of the most notable speeches ever so effortlessly is phenominal. Like his homie said in the doc, "God gave Jimmy words(a message) to say" that day. The way his players spoke of him made him seem even more legendary as well.

Still cant watch the entire speech without choking up.

Cool to see how much fear players had for dream and Sampson back then too. Youngins thinking MJ was the only player to ever strike those kinds of emotions into opponents in the pro's/college are sadly mistaken. Then Samp and Dream ended up on the same team in houston

Nah, worst part was the two very end scenes.

When Whittenburg was standing in the Coliseum crying talking about how he would never see his coach again.

THEN, when his wife was like "Jim used to write his goals on a note card and put them in his sports coat. When I would take his sports coats to the dry cleaners, I would take the cards out and read them. I read the win a national championship card and the last one I ever read simply said beat cancer."

Been watching these 30 for 30's on Netflix, never heard of most of these stories like Len Bias (excluding Joe Budden reference), Hank Gathers, Benji Wilson etc living in London we don't know about these guys so been loving being able to watch them and hearing their story.

Ill keep an eye put for this one

that Benji story was DEEP. I love 30 for 30 & how the narrate the stories, they have the perfect dynamic of miniscule dramatics that illustrate this true stories even that much more vividly for the viewer.
