Honestly, what's so great about Jordan?
Everyone points at all the accolades and how much he scored, but people forget to look at his surrounding environment. He played in an era of basketball that wasn't that great.
Players were slower, players were less athletic, it's no surprise that Jordan dominated the NBA during the 90s.. because, I hate to break it to yall, the 90s were overrated.
Barkley? Slow, old and fat.
Ewing? slow, old and not clutch.
Smh, that sh*t was a terrible era of the NBA when you look back at it. Guys like Larry Bird, Magic, all overrated.
Don't believe me? Just watch a 90s game on youtube, mother fu*kers were slow as sh*t.
LeBron would run through these guys. Cutting to the lane, attacking the basketball, running up and down the court. Dudes would be gasping for breath trying to keep up.
Jordan would be an all-star in today's era, but GOAT??? Nahh b.
Jordan played in a weak era yet more people watched basketball during Jordan's era than any other era of basketball... And that was during an era that isn't as media crazed as it is now... You have more available broadcasts, more games played on TV, more media coverage and more technology then ever before in this era and basketball ratings are still way lower than they were in the 80's and 90's... So if this era is so mucn better why are people not watching it like they use too?
The NBA started losing fans as soon as 90's basketball ended... They desperately tried to draw fans by adding in bullsh*t rules to make the game more fast paced and higher scoring after Jordan left...
Do you realize that in the 98 finals... Only twice did either team reach 90 points in a game in a 6 game series... And it was still one of the most exciting series in NBA history... You can't match the level of play from the 90's... Athleticism and flash plays will never surpass the heart and tenacity and level of competition amongst teams of 80's and 90's basketball... If you are telling me that Jordan played against nobodies then that makes him even more great...
That means he carried an entire era by himself... Which so happened to be the most watched era in basketball history... That means people would rather watch Jordan beat down so called scrubs then Lebron, Kobe, Wade, Durant, Shaq, Duncan, Iverson and any other superstar of this era you can name play against each other... Now how pathetic does that make this era look
