It's not about restructuring, it's about keeping the locker room on one accord. There are a lot of players who still want Smith as the QB and think he got a raw deal so they might cause a ruckus next season at the first chance so Harbaugh doesn't want that dynamic right now. They'll never get the most out of Kaep if he has to worry about looking over his shoulder.
York wants Smith as the QB but he also understands that the most successful franchises let the coaches coach and back off until they need to intervene. I just hope we can get a player to be a backup that can win in the event Kaep goes down.
One thing that is weird about this story is around the team they say they don't need 14 rookies on the team this year so why acquire more picks this year? We could be looking at 15 picks at least.
