How much does Finishline/Eastbay/Footlocker BUY their shoes for?

I always wondered this question....I figured someone here might know

How much does the retailers pay for the Jordans/Nikes that they sell

If the shoe sells for $160....how much do they actually buy that pair for?

Its somewhere in the 35-45 % off retail. Meaning if retail is $160,they pay roughly 90 or so dollars.

*waits for thread to turn into the usual "These people make way too much money!!" sh*t*

Like retailers aren't supposed to make money off products, and like buying the product is the only expense the retailer has..

Bet the same people would be PISSED if they knew how much these restaurants pay for their products

^^^^that's what im saying. lets take a $185 dollar pair of jordans. whole sale about $90

so nike makes them for about $10 i'd a.ssume. so are they supposed to sell em for $11? lmao.....

people dont understand inflation:

$125 of 1996 dollars would be worth: $182.75 in 2012. yes, i do work in retail and i have for quite a while.

2012 retro 11: $185 MSRP.

The Restaurant logic only makes sense with places like STK or NOBU high end joints. Most mom an pop shops follow the 30% rule (Food/Labor/Profit) with 10% misc.

I worked at a Sbarro in high school, they had a list that showed the total cost to the company to make each item on the menu.

They used to charge $3.75 for a slice of their "Meat Lovers" pizza, which was the most expensive. They had 8 slices in each pizza, and it cost $0.75 to make one slice of the pizza, which means it cost $6.00 to make. That means that once they sold 2 slices of that pizza, they had all their money they put into making it back, (ingredients, cook time, etc.) and that the other 6 slices were pure profit.

Of course, a mom and pop restaurant wouldn't get the same deals on ingredients so their cost would be higher, but I was referring to the chain restaurants anyway
