I'm a Jacksonville native bruh...I know more about that team than I care to admit...I know the system and I guarantee you Werner is a fit because he can play either style on the line...when Jenkins went down he became the main focus on our D and drew a lot of double teams and was still disruptive...bruh mark my words here...wherever Werner goes he will do damage.
And Carradine was a monster at times but far too inconsistent for me
Werner doesn't fit on the Jags DL period. The Jags defensive scheme is exactly like the Seahawks scheme. There's perferably three big guys and a long, fast guy at what they call the Leo position (was called the Elephant back in the 90s on the 49ers when Carroll was there, Charles Haley played that position.) Basically you get three run stuffers and a guy who only focuses on getting in the backfield. The other DE is a 5-technique, you gotta DT who's a 1 technique, the other DT is a 3 tech. The Leo is basically lined up in the wide 9. That's Chris Clemons, that's Bruce Irvin. Werner isn't that at all. He's a classic 4-3 DE. Doesn't fit the hybrid 4-3 with 3-4 principles that is the Jags defense.
Again, I like Werner, but he doesn't fit the Jags, and taking him at #2 is a massive reach. You would of been better off taking Dion Jordan, Keke Mingo, and Ziggy Ansah as they fit the Jags' Leo position. Personally I would of gone Jordan or Mingo.
To dudes saying I should of stepped up, you right, but I never saw this thread til yesterday
