Back in summer 06 when this song dropped everyone was looking for Papoose. I think it was just a classic mistake of taking too long to drop an album trying get those big album sales numbers. He just let his moment pass by in 2007 hip hop just started moving TOO fast with a lot of records dropping from all different parts of the country, a lot of new artist coming in, and hip hop was beggining to transform into what it is today. But papoose definitely had the swag, charisma, and lyrics to blow up. I remember everyone had the lyrics to this verse on their myspace page.

He should have signed with anyone but Busta and Jive records. I thought G-Unit would have been a great look for him. 50 would have gave him a push and would have gave NY the next big thing. But he fell off something serious since then.

Yeah I remember being excited about Papoose back in 06 but I feel like he sort of got lost in the sea of long white tee/throwback jersey and pinweel fitted over the eyes Smack DVD New York n*ggas. Like I feel like it mighta been different if he first was getting his name out 2 or 3 years earlier but when he came out I think that, despite his skill, it was hard for him to stand out. He was nice though.

As far as ya'll talking about Saigon I recently read an interview where he was talking about his album getting shelved for something like 4 years and the label not letting him record music elsewhere or leave for that time so it sorta fu*ked his chances all the way up. The politics in the music industry are atrocious.

But true tho

his name was dumb. To make it in hip hop its all about marketing and branding your name. French name is better his fashion is better, so he blew. Haaaaaaan

Pap's Law Library & Sharades series was dope. Last time I thought Pap was dope was when he was dissing Uncle Murda & Fat Joe. After that, he was trash.

Saigon was that dude. Still makes dope music.

Cory Gunz is that n*gga. Thought he had next.

Writer was a problem. Never thought he'd be big though.

Pap has tracks for days tho. His first 6 or 7 mixtapes were dope/solid. If he coulda got some of these tracks on albums he woulda been good money. He doesnt sound offbeat to me on these either.

Pap was cool. I wont say dude cant spit. But for some reason he always came off mad corny to me. And he reminds me of Immortal Technique in the way he rides a beat. That off beat Silkk the Shocker type sh*t. That annoyed the hell outta me.
But MF Doom could do the off beat thing

And yall still aint answer why the Mickey Factz can't be the next big thing for NY.

That Mickey Mause Tape>
