To the people saying he went about this the wrong way, what is the right way?
To the people talking about the cop dying not being LAPD, that is also irrelevant as he was in the way
Don't think of this as a death, think of it as a means to complete an objective
I would say in this case, the right way would've been to gather up any and all evidence you had against the LAPD. Dorner has many awards and medals and a decent résumé under his belt. Which would have given him a lot of credibility (in my opinion)
Once he gathered up evidence (if any) he could then approach higher ups either in the government or maybe speak to some of his old military colleagues, and figure out which route would be the best and use his connections from the past to figure out which route was the best to take in an attempt to bring justice. Although it may be a long process, it's still better than dying, or k!lling innocent people and being labeled a terrorist by the media. If that way fails, you explain your situation to numerous news outlets across he country and attempt to turn them all against the LAPD.
As soon as media got word that Dorner was an "alleged" cop k!ller, it was all over for him. Now he's getting sh*t on by the media....
