I gotta agree with the folks saying you cant compare wilts stats to now. The level of talent he was playing against would be similar to what you would see if Lebron played against D2 college teams
I used to think that way, but I realized that i shouldn't punish Wilt for being built like what a normal modern day nba player looks like.

50 years from now, i'm guessing the majority of nba players will look like Lebron, but that doesn't mean we should punish Lebron for being ahead of his time.

Wilt can't control the talent he went up against. he was physically and athletically superior to the others in his era just like LeBron. you can't use that against him, just goes to show how far ahead of his time he was.

basically you are saying wilt dominated his era but because nobody was a close to as good as he was, his stats don't count

wilt wasnt even the best center back then tho he took 40 shots a game to avg 50ppg. once u get over the shock of the numbers, it's not that impressive.............

edit: and nobody here even saw him play

I'm speaking in relativity. Let Wilt's accomplishmets stand alone in his era because it was a completely different style of game.

Basically I'm saying comparing Wilt to Lebron is like comparing Don Hutson to Terrell Owens

lechoke the fatherless bastard is fatherless, however, comparing NBA now, to when Wilt was playing is foolish. The level is much higher now.

that's fair but TS is the one who brought up "NBA history" Wilt wouldn't have been brought up if he had just said "in his era"

reminds me of the 06 ECF when wade was averaging 30 on 70% through the first 4 games against the pistons. that was some type of playoff record at the time
