The folks behind the Grammy Awards want to make one thing clear: When it comes to the dress code for this year's telecast, there are no ifs, ands or butts.

Producers have reportedly sent out detailed and militant guidelines to this year's nominees and attendees advising them on the proper attire to wear to Sunday's show, in an obvious attempt to avoid a Janet Jackson–esque wardrobe malfunction of FCC-catastrophic proportions (or at least a suggestive costume like the one Pink wore while performing at the show in 2010).

In a straight-faced, if unintentionally riotous, email purportedly sent out by Grammy honchos and obtained by Deadline, attendees are requested to "adhere" to an apparent "network policy" on curbing those wild duds.

We're livestreaming the Grammys red carpet! Watch Sunday on E! Online
On the no-fly-zone list? Butt cracks, thongs, underb00bs, side b00bs, sheer frocks, n*pples and, ahem, overly demonstrative groin areas.

The purported memo's language, however, is the real clincher, as—among other things—it advises:

"Please be sure that buttocks and female brea$ts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the brea$ts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female brea$t n*pples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible 'puffy' bare skin exposure."

Additionally, the missive warns against stars blatantly shilling for products via "commercial identification of actual brand name products on T-shirts," as well hawking personal causes in the form of lapel pins and other similar accessories.

Outfits emblazoned with expletives and foreign words will also get the red flag, as the Grammys' clothing police will be keeping an eye out for any foul language that the camera might inadvertently catch.

The Recording Academy has not yet commented on the reported missive.

Lest we forget, though, that the Grammy Awards are actually a celebration of musical talent and not just a flesh fest, the Recording Academy has also announced that Elton John, Mumford & Sons, Zac Brown and Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard will be performing together in a special tribute to the late, great Levon Helm of The Band.

Well, guys: Guess now's not the time to show off that snazzy new thong you've been meaning to bust out.

LL Cool J, Chuck D, Travis Barker and others are slated to perform at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

It looks like LL Cool J won't just be hosting the 55th Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday, February 10th.

In a recent report from MTV, it appears that LL will be performing alongside Public Enemy front man Chuck D, Travis Barker, Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello and DJ Z-Trip at the Grammy Awards. The performance is reportedly a mash-up of Hip Hop, rock and EDM.

The Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow spoke about the performance, saying the idea spawned from LL's history as a host for the Grammy Awards.

"LL is part of our family now. He's not a hired gun and last year after we did the nominations show we said, 'Let's do [something] this year,' and he was up for it," Portnow explained. "He represents so much history with his work in Hip Hop...to this day he's in it, he's respected for it and we thought, 'Gee, it's right under our noses, let's do something with LL and have a lot of fun with that.'"

Portnow added, "[The performance is] not so much a tribute to [LL's] music, so much as a celebration of the kind of music he's been known for and others that have followed."

While everyone is wagering who will take home the Grammy for Best Rap Album this weekend, nominee Lupe Fiasco is taking himself out of the race. With the stiff competition in the category, the Chi-town rapper says he can forget about it.

“Every album since ‘Food & Liquor,’ my first official release, has been nominated for Best Rap Album at the Grammys,” he says in a radio interview with Jenny Boom Boom during a pre-show event for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. “No. Clearly I won’t [win]. Nas, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz and the Roots. Ah yeah, it is Drake. Forgot about Drake.”

Nas’ ‘Life is Good,’ 2 Chainz’s ‘Based on a T.R.U. Story,’ Drake’s ‘Take Care,’ Rick Ross’ ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’ and the Roots’ ‘undun’ are all competing with Lupe for the trophy.

“I think they’ll give it to Nas,” he predicts. “I think they’ll give it to Nas, to be honest.”

Last month, news spread that his forthcoming album, ‘Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 2,’ was canceled. When asked what scrapping the project really meant, Lupe was short but confident. “Canceled, that’s it,” he continues. “Still Lupe. I’m still grounded in my work and creative passions.”

Some of those passions include his DJ work with SNDCLSH, a DJ duo helmed by himself and Sky Gellatly.
