It's just a sign of progression. This will more than likely make quad core cpu's minimum requirement. It's a blessing to everyone in the gaming community (if you follow tech stuff like that) and a godsend for AMD since dev's will now be forced to learn to code better and take full advantage of these CPU's.

I would have to beg to differ.....8 cores at 1.6 each? you'd be better of with a quad @ 3+ ghz IMO.....And I know you are partial to AMD Processors, but I don't think this will particularly help them or devs.....Very few games take advantage quads anyways....The key will be what GPU they put into the system...By the sounds of things, it looks as if they are trying to prevent a bottleneck..
