i personally think moss had the talent to be the GOAT, but he just didnt follow through with it. like he said, he had some off years, but when he was with a decent QB he was putting up good numbers. My problem with him is he was a deep threat. he would take the top of the defense, force them to cover over the top almost everytime. With rice, owen, harrison, brown, irvin, carter and the other great receivers, you had to watch them for every route. the slants, ins, digs, drags and what have you. Moss is definitely a top 5 receiver, but he's not the GOAT. I would take rice, owens, harrison, and brown over moss, just my personal opinion

You can't be serious.

Also, about Moss only being a "deep threat" and not being good at running routes....

This is easily Jerry Rice. He was uncoverable in his prime, AND played during a periord in time when DBs were actually able to play physical. Megatron is in a kinder, gentler NFL...

He would have produced with any QB throwing to him. In 2001 and 2002 at the ages of 39 and 40 he cranked 2,350 yards and 16 TDs out of Rich Gannon so...

Look what Randy did his first year with Brady. NFL record for most touchdowns in one season.

I agree Rice was better but Randy is #2 or #3 at worst

If I were to start a dream team I'd take moss as my #1 receiver because nobody could stop him, and without those down years he could have been the goat. That being said in the real world those years did happen and rice is the goat and it isn't even that close.

THIS. Imagine if Moss had Montana throwing to him his whole career.

LOL if anything, Gannon got those stats out of Rice, not the other way around. In 2002 alone, dude threw for 4,689 yards and 26 touchdowns and recording a career-high 97.2 passer rating. Dude was also the MVP of the NFL, MVP of the Pro Bowl, AFC player of the year and named to the All Pro and took his squad to the Super Bowl. Just stop it...

Correct me if im wrong I think Rice helped Steve Young way more than Young helped rice. Steve Young was with the bucs and was garbage. Its not like Rice joined steve young's team. SO he did have Montana but thats not his fault. Rice has three rings Moss none. Rice has a superbowl MVP moss may NEVER get a ring much less be named MVP of anything.

Tim Brown was great too... but he not top 10
Lemme refresh your memory:

Brown retired with 14,934 receiving yards, the second-highest total in NFL history, 1,094 receptions (3rd), and 100 touchdown catches (3rd-Tied). Brown also gained 190 rushing yards, 3,320 punt-return yards, 3 fumble-return yards, and 1,235 yards returning kickoffs. This gave him a total of 19,682 combined net yards, ranking him #5 among the NFL's all-time leaders at the time of his retirement. He also scored 105 total touchdowns (100 receiving, 1 rushing, 3 punt returns, 1 kickoff return).
So please
