Lakers looked real good with kobe stockton out there
but i maintain that the real issue for the squad is defense. All the kobe facilitating just keeps the other stars mouths shut about touches
Which makes the more energetic on both ends. Which I hate, because it's being OK'd for guys to not play D if they don't like how many shots they get, that's not cool. But it's the personal Kobe's working with so he gotta do what he gotta do. And going through the Kobe in the post is slowing the pace of the game down, which in turn makes their defense better. Most of the best defensive teams in history slowed the game down, all that running sh*t leaves you open to get scored on.
Ultimately the best thing about Kobe passing is not really Kobe passing but they have an identity now. For the first time all year they look like a team. Even in games they won early on you never got the sense that everybody was comfortable in their role, and it didn't even seem like most players had a defined role. n*ggas didn't know where to be on the court, one game they play 30 minutes next they don't play, players pouting and not playing, etc. In these last two games sh*t is just looking like a unit with one goal and that's winning games. Everybody knew the Lakers would be hard to beat when they found their identity it just took much longer than anyone expected.
They probably won't win the championship this year, but this is great for the franchise moving forward. If they can continue to play solid ball they can get Dwight to sign back, Pau doesn't have to be traded, coaches don't have to be fired, and they can move forward without all the drama.
