you cannot tear your acl an come back any time soon... partial tear or not. I tore my acl and walked around for two weeks before I went to the doctor and found out it was torn. Him walking around on it has nothing to do with his chances of playing again this year. His season is over

Get the fu*k outta here with that bullsh*t. There is NO way anyone tearing their ACL and coming back anytime soon to 7 weeks. After surgery you will basically be on bed rest for 1 week. You start rehabbing and it's a solid 3 months before you can even start running. So, yeah, I am calling that story FALSE. I had ACL surgery Dec. 19th 2011.....I haven't rehabbed like I should, but I am not even dunking again. You want me to believe your friend, whose in school was better off than someone like Shumpert, Peterson, Rose, etc? Those players don't have sh*t else to do but rehab, your friend was in school.

In regards to Rondo comment, I am sure it was because he was pissed off and just hurt so saying something like this kept him from crying more.
you don't have to have surgery...the day before my reconstructive knee surgery I was running routes full speed a month after I tore my acl. I couldn't imagine taking contact with the tear or being comfortable landing awkwardly on your fu*ked up leg though

... if it was a complete tear of the ligament, he wouldn't even be able to stand
False. I had a complete blowout (ACL, MCL, PCL & Meniscus) and I could stand, just couldn't take any steps/put weight on it...

Not true man. You can do the rehab, avoid surgery, brace it up and give it a go.

I didn't get my surgery for like 5 months after tearing my ACL so I know one can do some things on torn ACL but without surgery there is NO WAY to actually play sports for real. If you want to play sports after tearing an ACL, surgery is required. If you a CEO who never have any type of activity with sports, the surgery is not needed.
I know of at least eight that did it. Only one was a high schooler, the rest were collegiate players and professionals. Everybody isn't the same physically so each case is different. You couldn't come back but another athlete can. It all depends on that person and their circumstance.

It's a bit different because of all the running Rondo would have to do but Philip Rivers actually had surgery and still played on his torn ACL. Plenty of contact, so saying it can't be done isn't true. Granted it was only one game.
