Nice. Does it work well with live TV? I'm looking into one of these mini PC's for TV. I don't care about games or*movies much
as far as live tv, ive only used it for espn, tbs and comedy central and it worked fine. no lag at all.

Are you streaming movies to it thru your network, or have a external hdd hooked up to it.
im streaming movies from the links provided on the plugins, i havent downloaded a movie since i got my apple tv 2 and now with my raspberry pi im doing the same.

but i hooked up my external hdd just to try it to watch a old movie and it worked very well too

im thinking of buying a few more to put them in each room in the house.

Icefilms isnt working for me. Some movies start but the fu*king loading of the movie is k!lling me. Get 2 minutes in and it stops the stream cause it hasnt loaded. That sh*t slow as hell too. 1channel is the same thing.

xbmc isnt going to giv you netflix and hulu for free

but it will give you access to just about every show and movie, so in a way its alot better than netflix and hulu

althought the netflix hulu interface is alot easier to use

yup!!!! thats the one!!!

run raspbmc on that sh*t and you'll never look back

i recommend using an old 2gb sd card for booting the pi and the usb for install that way it runs from the usb drive and it will run smoothly.

some will say that running from a class 10 card is faster but to me its better running from a thumb drive

u should cop the pi and if u like the setup sell ur gbox.

linux based xbmc is much better than android at this point.

android's is still buggy.

Apple TV 3..

i got the 3 strictly for the 1080p so Blu ray files look amazing on my 60"

hopefully one day i can jailbreak it. and get back to that streaming good life.. but I'm getting by just fine downloading and watching 1080p Blurays and whatever else file i feel like..

My Pi should be in today. Am i gonna need to pick up a cheap mouse and keyboard, or is there a way to get a remote to work?

really looking into that Pi, just a little confused on how you set it all up. When you say run Linux because Android is a bit buggy, do you have to put Linux on yourself or buy the Linux version?

on first boot if you have a newer model tv your pi will prob work with ur tv remote.

if not if u have an android phone download yatse its a remote to control xbmc and if u have an iphone download the xbmc remote and it should work with that.

u wont need it until it boots. because the install is automatic.

but if u dont wanna use ur phone as a remote then any cheap mouse or keyboard will do.

personally i find my android remote (yatse) very convenient.

pi's have no operating system when u buy them

when u go online to download raspbmc it is xbmc based on linux so the setup is very easy. all u do is put the raspbmc on ur sd card and put it in ur pi and boot it up.

the android versions of xbmc are still in developmental stages so thats why i went with the pi

Finally got the Pi up and running. Streaming has been pretty good so far. Alot better than my Gbox.

Only problem im having is that the Pi doesnt recognize my external HDD, so i cant want the movies i have on it. The only thing i can think of is because i have it formatted for my ps3

Is there a video player or something i can put on the pi?
