i don't know where you are but most places pick juries based on voter registration. think of the demographics of registered voters. Especially in Mizzou. I bet in Cali or Arizona it's mad hispanic jurors.

I'm pretty sure they categorize any darker Indian/Middle Eastern people as black.

Hispanics are always complicated to place.

Mainly because they're so diverse. You can have a person who's ethnicity is Mexican, Their and their nationality Mexican, but their skin is white, so technically their Race is white, because race is generally considered skin color.

For Example. Martin Sheen is Half Spanish,

[pic - click to view]

but his skin is white, so he's considered white.

If you saw Martin Sheen on a Jury, you would categorize him as white.

Also, a lot of hispanics in America identify as white.

Things went from heated to downright ugly in Ferguson this morning, when a CNN interview was derailed by the racially-charged heckling of some of the pro-Darren Wilson supporters who have been marching daily in the already-tense town.

While CNN’s Jake Tapper was speaking with the pro-Wilson crowd, a local businessman came by to say that he just wanted the rallies to end because it was making the predominately African American community in Ferguson feel like they were under siege and has only served to fuel the anger on both sides. The group didn’t take the criticism well.

When the unidentified business owner began telling Tapper that he “didn’t want the controversy” of daily pro-Wilson marches in his community and just wanted “peace,” the crowd began shouting at him. A man confronted the business owner while wearing the black and blue makeup under his eyes as a symbol of the injuries Officer Wilson was said to have sustained in the moments before he fatally shot Michael Brown. (Note: Many of Wilson’s supporters believe that he had sustained serious facial injuries in the lead up to the shooting, but most of those claims have been debunked – still, the symbol remains). The man in eye makeup inexplicably began clapping in the business owner’s face, perhaps trying to goad him into a reaction.

Things get worse from there.

A man off-camera says it is his right as a United States citizen to protest. The business owner, who appears to be of Indian or Middle Eastern descent, answers that he is also a U.S. citizen. Then another man marches towards him and asks the business owner to speak English, despite the fact that he had been speaking English the entire time.

The man, at this point visibly upset, yells back, “I am speaking English. Do you understand that? You stupid jackass!” The heckler retreats back and laughs. The guy with the makeup keeps clapping.

The video is a stark reminder that the people who most passionately stand up for Ferguson and officer Wilson are not always the ones living in Ferguson. As the business owner testified to, the pro-Wilson rallies aren’t helping people to heal from the fatal shooting or the disastrous police response afterwards. In fact, the grandstanding may be exacerbating the situation. Meanwhile, the ones who actually have a stake in the outcome – the people who live and work in Ferguson – are having their voices drowned out. In this case, literally by pro-Wilson supporters clapping in their face while they try to speak.

As the ill-will between police and Ferguson residents cools, the “I am Darren Wilson” crowd has been steadily growing. After the Support Officer Darren Wilson GoFundMe drive blew past its $235,000 goal in just nine days, Wilson supporters had to set up another account to handle the extra money. So far that one has already raised an additional $171,000 in just five days.

As Jon Hendren noted on Twitter, many of the people donating were celebratory of the idea that Wilson shot a “street thug” or added comments that were openly racist. The fund’s organizers couldn’t delete the awful messages fast enough and Hendren manages to compile a pretty comprehensive, awful list.

Taken with the video above, it’s fair to say the pro-Darren Wilson is experiencing a bit of an image problem.

As the nation continues to grapple with police discrimination in America, a number of incidents are now surfacing more than ever thanks to the power of social media.

One recent encounter took place in Beverly Hills Friday, Aug. 22, during Emmy Award weekend between local authorities and television producer Charles Belk who said police arrested him as he was walking from a restaurant where they reportedly accused him of “armed bank robbery and accessory to robbery of a Citibank.”

Belk penned a post on Facebook describing the “life altering experience,” saying his only crime was fitting the description of a “tall, bald head, black male.”

WHEN YOU "FIT THE DESCRIPTION"!
It’s one of those things that you hear about, but never think it would happen to you.
On Friday afternoon, August 22nd around 5:20pm, while innocently walking by myself from a restaurant on Wilshire Blvd, to my car up LaCienega Blvd my freedom was taken from me by the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Within seconds, I was detained and told to sit on the curb of the very busy street, during rush hour traffic.
Within minutes, I was surrounded by 6 police cars, handcuffed very tightly, fully searched for weapons, and placed back on the curb.
Within an hour, I was transported to the Beverly Hills Police Headquarters, photographed, finger printed and put under a $100,000 bail and accused of armed bank robbery and accessory to robbery of a Citibank.
Within an evening, I was wrongly arrested, locked up, denied a phone call, denied explanation of charges against me, denied ever being read my rights, denied being able to speak to my lawyer for a lengthy time, and denied being told that my car had been impounded…..All because I was mis-indentified as the wrong “tall, bald head, black male,” ... "fitting the description."
I get that the Beverly Hills Police Department didn’t know at the time that I was a law abiding citizen of the community and that in my 51 years of existence, had never been handcuffed or arrested for any reason. All they saw, was someone fitting the description. Doesn't matter if he's a "Taye Diggs BLACK", a "LL Cool J BLACK", or "a Drake BLACK"

Beverly Hills Police Department sent The Huffington Post a statement regarding Belk's arrest:

Beverly Hills Police on Friday arrested 47-year-old Brianna Clemons Kloutse of Los Angeles immediately following an armed robbery at a bank in the 8400 block of Wilshire Boulevard. Police believe that Kloutse is the “Purse Packing Bandit,” responsible for nine recent bank robberies and two attempted bank robberies in Los Angeles, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. She will be arraigned today at the criminal court building in downtown Los Angeles.
Witnesses to the robbery said Kloutse was most likely working with a man who was distracting the other bank employees while the robbery was carried out. Within minutes of the robbery call being broadcast, police detained a subject less than a block away from the robbery who closely matched the clothing and physical characteristics of the male suspect. After an eye witness positively identified the subject in a field show-up, police arrested Charles Belk for suspicion of robbery. A follow-up investigation by detectives ultimately determined that Mr. Belk was not involved in the robbery and he was released from custody without charges.

The Beverly Hills Police Department deeply regrets the inconvenience to Mr. Belk and has reached out to him to express those regrets and further explain the circumstances. However, based on witness accounts, and his location close to the bank, officers properly detained and arrested him based on the totality of the circumstances known at the time of the field investigation.
The Police Department protocol requires that they go through the process of thoroughly verifying that Mr. Belk was not the suspect before releasing him. That process included taking witness statements, coordination with the FBI and Los Angeles Police detectives who were investigating the earlier bank robberies, and examination of the surveillance video from the bank. Police are still searching for the second suspect.

There's also the fact that a eyewitness positively identified him as the suspect.
They would of held him whether he was white, black or whatever with that.

A Georgia man is dead after police used their Tasers multiple times to force him to walk.
Gregory Towns ran from police and was so tired after they caught up to him that he could no longer walk as police officers Marcus Eberhart and Howard Weems demanded. So what did these officers do? They used their Tasers to shock Towns into getting up and walking with them. The two officers fired their Tasers 13 times at the handcuffed man until he died, with Eberhart firing 10 of the 13 shots.

On Tuesday, Towns’ attorney Chris Stewart blasted police for violating their own rules and regulations on Taser usage, telling the press that officers basically used their weapons as cattle prods.

“This is a direct violation of their own rules,” Stewart said. “You cannot use a Taser to escort or prod a subject. They used their Tasers as a cattle prod on Mr. Towns.”

Furthermore, Towns did nothing to deserve being treated the way he was by police. According to Stewart, “He wasn’t cursing. He wasn’t being abusive. He was saying, ‘I’m tired.’”

Of course, police deny that the Tasers had anything to do with Towns’ death. But the autopsy report contradicts their denial. The death has been ruled a homicide caused by the Taser shocks and the physical weakness Towns incurred by running.

And who could really blame him for running? After all, police have been shooting young black males at an alarming rate. It only makes sense that Towns would run for his life rather than be shot down like a dog by people citizens are supposed to be able to trust.

This latest incident of cops k!lling a black man also proves that police can’t even be trusted to use Tasers responsibly. Apparently, police had to prove they can k!ll people with Tasers too. It’s like their way of saying ‘don’t even waste your time trying to take our guns away, we’ll just k!ll people with something else.’ The police are out of control and something needs to be done about it before they k!ll more people for no reason.
