Dent has been suspended from the team indefinitely, the school confirmed to Warchant.com on Monday afternoon. Florida State student-athletes are not allowed to participate in athletics while felony charges are pending per school policy.

Florida State wide receiver Greg Dent has been arrested and charged with felony s3xual a.ssault.

The alleged a.ssault occurred at Dent's apartment early Sunday morning.

FSU receiver Greg Dent was arrested on a felony s3xual a.ssault charge on Sunday night.
Dent's bond was set at $15,000 by Leon County Judge Robert Wheeler during an arraignment hearing on Monday morning. Dent will also be on pre-trial supervision and is not permitted to have any contact with the victim. The state attorney's office had requested a $20,000 bond and the use of a tracking device.

According to the arrest report, the victim stated that she and Dent were "very good friends" and it was common for the victim to stay at Dent's house.

At approximately 3:30 a.m. Sunday, the victim awoke to Dent trying to kiss her on the lips. The victim told Dent "no" but Dent became "increasingly forceful" trying to kiss her. The victim then bit Dent's upper lip and he jumped out of the bed.

Within a few minutes, Dent returned to the bedroom nekkid and laid in the same direction as the victim. Dent began touching the victim and was able to pull off her shorts and underwear as she struggled to resist. The victim continued to resist, eventually grabbing Dent's hair with one hand and punching him in the head with the other.

The victim also tightened her legs as Dent tried to pull her legs apart. The report states that on two occasions, Dent was able to partially penetrate the victim.

The struggle continued until Dent and the victim fell on the floor. The victim was able to grab her belongings and run out of Dent's apartment. She reported the incident to the Tallahassee Police Department on Sunday.

Dent spoke with TPD investigators on Sunday and was arrested at 3 p.m. ET. He was booked in Leon County jail at 9 p.m. On Monday, Dent was present in court via a television feed from Leon County jail.

Attorney Tim Jansen represented Dent during Monday's arraignment but had not met with him to discuss the case prior to the hearing. Jansen said the school is aware of Dent's arrest and the charge against him.

Update: Dent is expected to be bonded out of Leon County Jail Monday, Warchant.com has learned.

Dent was arrested for a violation of Florida Statute 794.011-5, a second degree felony.

The statute: "A person who commits s3xual battery upon a person 12 years of age or older, without that person's consent, and in the process thereof does not use physical force and violence likely to cause serious personal injury commits a felony of the second degree."

The offense carries a potential jail term of up to 15 years.

"It's a very serious offense," Jansen said. "It's an offense that could send him to prison if he's convicted. It's certainly an offense that's going to get him suspended."

Jansen said the case centers on statements Dent made to TPD investigators on Sunday. Dent's statement was redacted in the police report released to the media.

"All we have is a statement that's attributed to him," Jansen said. "A lot of times, the officers will give their interpretation of what he said in the report and sometimes their statements will be different."

Dent, a Belle Glade, Fla. native, caught 27 passes for 355 yards and two touchdowns for Florida State in 2012. A rising redshirt senior, Dent was praised by FSU coach Jimbo Fisher as one of standouts in spring practice and was expected to play a significant role in FSU's receiver rotation this fall.

Dent was one of the recipients of the "Hinesman Award," an honor that goes to the top performers in spring practice.

Warchant.com will update as news develops.

Who cares??? Thomas is old news. FSU did the right thing and if he doesn't want to play here than go to USC, sit out a year and pay the tuition.

We moved on and already have stud LB recruits this year.

We're not letting him out of his LOI. If he wants to go to USC so bad then sit out and pay that 55k out of pocket for the year while watching at home. He's going out there to chase Lane Kiffin and Kiffin won't even be there by the time he's eligible to play. We're gonna have great LB's regardless. Will we be better with him, ABSOLUTELY. Will we suffer without him? fu*k No.

You say that, so what is the point of not releasing him from is LOI if FSU is always going to get "Great LBs"?

You seriously cant be this fkn dumb can you?

So anytime a recruit wants to back out because he changed his mind we should let them out of their LOI? You think every school should? He had how many years to make up his mind? He didn't have to sign or fax in his LOI. He didn't have to pick on signing day. He could have waited until he was 18. Kid's just being a puss and FSU is doing what any school would do. We have great LB's now and we have great LB's committed. Do you really think 1 true fresh LB is going to make our defense collapse?

If you are FSU why does it matter if you claim you get can "Great LBs" at any time. Besides, he is not wanting to go to UF, Miami, or any school in the ACC. He wants to go to USC. You ask me it is stupid.

FSU should just release him and have him sit out the year, which his father said is fine.

In 2011 Florida had 2 players enroll in January, but they transferred during spring practice, which is by worse than a player that has not even touched foot on campus.
