FSU Does It Big With Taylor

Florida State added a long-time target on the defensive front on Thursday when Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale four-star defensive tackle Darvin Taylor committed to the Seminoles during a ceremony held at his school. He made the commitment on his birthday and opening day for his high school team, as they face Cosby this evening.
Taylor chose Florida State over Maryland, N.C. State, and Virginia Tech. He had more than 25 total offers. He attributed his choice to his relationship with the coaches and how comfortable he was around the players on previous visits.
FSU had Taylor locked up for several months, dating back to at least his Junior Day visit on March 1st. Defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins was Taylor’s primary recruiter. He spoke about his affinity for Haggins following that March 1st visit to FSU.
"He's like another dad to me. My dad tells me what I need to hear, not what I want to hear and that's what coach Odell does too," Taylor said.
Haggins gave him a simple message on what he has to do in order to see the field at Florida State.
"I need to work hard all the time, have a non-stop motor," Taylor added.
He intends to take just one official visit, to Florida State. The date of that visit remains to be determined.
The 6-foot-2, 300-plus pound defensive lineman joins four-star junior college defensive tackle D.J. Jones as commitments at the position. Florida State wants to add one more defensive tackle in the 2015 class.
Taylor is a four-star prospect ranked No. 165 overall by the 247Sports.com Composite. He is considered the No. 16 defensive tackle in the nation and No. 8 prospect overall in Virginia.

Gustin Finalizes Notre Dame Official

According to his father John Gustin, four-star linebacker Porter Gustin has finalized his first official visit of the year and it will take place next weekend when Notre Dame hosts Michigan. Gustin will be leaving Friday night after his Salem (Utah) Salem Hills High School game on a red eye flight and he doesn't plan on returning until Monday morning, giving Gustin all day Saturday and Sunday on the Notre Dame campus.
The Notre Dame visit will be Gustin's first visit and he plans on taking all five officials with Arizona State, Florida State, LSU and Ohio State likely destinations as well.
The industry generated 247Sports composite ranks Gustin as the No. 67 prospect in the country. 247Sports ranks Gustin higher as a five-star and no. 23 overall. Currently Gustin's Crystal Ball is pointing in the direction of USC.

Okay, I'm glad we got the win, but if Winston is going to Target Rashad 20+ times a game we're going to have serious fu*king problems. Less Los and more Pender and Cook. Less horizontal sh*t and more stuff attacking the seams of the defense. Less trying to be cute on Kickoffs. Kick the sh*t deep and call it a play. Less scared Jimbo.

I guess i'll share my thoughts while its fresh in my mind. I could have easily been pissed out about this game cuz so much of our problems were self inflicted rather than just great play from OSU. Now I knew the game wasn't going to be easy for the simple fact that Gundy usually puts together a competent team. They may flame out down the road tho but they no slouch. But i'll try to put this sh*t in order some how in terms of my opinion on the game.

Winston: Um, well, he didn't play that terrible(well, he did by his standards) but he got fixated a couple times and threw the ball right to the defenders. I mean on that one play he threw it straight to the other team. That guy was just sitting their right in front of Winston and he didn't see the guy.lol. It was just that kind of night. He made some other throws that should have been picked off including that touchdown one to Greene. He made some crucial plays too, especially that run for TD. Overall: D but more like an F considering how he usually plays.

O-line: They sucked tonight and this was suppose to be one of our biggest strengths. This is how I thought we would pull away. Them pushing OSU 5 yards back but that didn't happen. I mean if a powerful runner like Los is barely getting back to the line you have a problem blocking. Overall: F

RB: I didn't learn much about Los cuz the blocking was so poor for him it wasn't fair. That being said, Pender was able to make plays in is limited carries. Looking like Barry Sanders out there.xd Overall: Its hard to give a grade cuz the o-line was so bad tonight.

Wrs: Shad obviously couldn't be stopped but outside him their wasn't much to look at. Christian Green made that one long play but didn't do much else. As a wr corps, it just wasn't an awesome night. Overall: D

Defense:
Im just lumping all this together. Bad tackling, bad pursuit angles, crappy coverages. This was happening for most of the night. This was a train wreck of a night imo. PJ got beat more than once. Should have been more as he got away with a pass interference in the endzone on a deep throw. Saw a lineman try to hit stick that rb with his head down. He hit air, it was completely unnecessary and should have been an easy tackle. They get a first down and go on in that drive to score a td on a blown coverage. Walsh should have been sacked numerous times but because of bad angles taken and being on undisciplined with your tackling Walsh got away and it usually led to a big play. Hunter missed an easy INT but i wasn't mad at him. Its been a long road for him to get back on the field and he lost concentration that play. He probably would have ran that back for a TD too. Overall: F. This needs serious work right now.

Special Teams: Normally I wouldn't even mention this but this was crazy. These pooch kicks that weren't effective and only gave them great field position against the defense that wasn't playing too well. I understand dude is a threat back their but you gotta kick it deep when its not working out for you. On that one punt OSU had, that punter should have never gotten the ball off. Bad pursuit angles and hesitation is why he did. Overall:: F

Playcalling:
Wasn't good. We passed when we should have ran. This my sound contradictory but we had a chance to stabilized things offensively and tire them out even tho the o-line sucked. But after we'd run for a first, we would call a pass on 1st and 2nd down at times. Just instantly lose that momentum. It was just weird. Overall: F

Overall: Its the first game. It was another example of how tricky first games can be against a competent opponent. Like I said, id rather had this game been played in week 3 intead of week 1 for example. A lot of issues need to be addressed. We got lucky tonight. Everything the team did wrong is correctable.

lol alla yall overreactin. winston played his worst game and still had highlights...defense was on the field all night and will definitely get better. O-line was pretty bad, but honestly, winston held on way too long (only wanted rashad).

the pink facemask, casino carpet threads, and dog p!ss gold paint are what had us playin like f*ggots.

deon 3:16: look good, feel good. feel good, play good. play good, get paid good.

Winston was ONLY throwing to Greene.. Idk if was the other wr wasnt getting open or he just loved throwing to him..But he gotta stop that sh*t.. That sh*t had me pissed seeing Los come in series after series.. Jimbo take tooooo long to sub the rb postion, Ive always felt that way too... Dalvin not getting a carry is fu*king crazy to me.. Mario played good and he only got the ball what 4 times??? I think ou rb had like a total of 20 carries, that cant happen...
