Cole been a soft verbal from the start. I never expected him to stick. But I know we're getting McFadden. I feel we have a great shot at Iman Marshall and the Davis DB out of Miami I think we have a great shot at.

When you got a class like ours is gonna be you start to understand you can't land every recruit and some are gonna flip, but the thing about us when he lose kids we replace them with better kids.

Lost Sousa, CJ Worton and JoJo Robinson last year only to land Ermon Lane, Travis Rudolph and Harrison. We can't lose in this recruiting sh*t lol

Williams on secondary: 'We're the best'

GREENSBORO, N.C. - After coming off a national championship led by a defense that returns players such as defensive backs Jalen Ramsey and Ronald Darby, Florida State cornerback P.J. Williams isn’t shy about who he thinks has the best secondary in the country.

“Well, I define the Florida State defensive backs as the No. 1 defensive backfield in the country," Williams said Sunday at ACC Kickoff in Greensboro, N.C.

“I just think we’re the best because we’ve got size, we’ve got experience coming off of a year where we were the best defensive backfield, and we have pretty much all the same players back.”

During the hour-long media conference, both Williams and quarterback Jameis Winston took several questions about what it was like going against each other in practice.

Each player spoke highly of the other, but Williams pointed out how the offense helped shape one of the best secondaries in the nation.

“Last year we had the privilege of going against (Kelvin Benjamin) and Rashad (Greene) and Kenny Shaw, all those three different receivers," Williams said. "We all got better, they got us better, and we got them better. We really pride ourselves on that.”

However, not everything has been smooth sailing for the Florida State defense. College football's coaching carousel affects everyone, even national champions.

The defensive MVP of last year’s title game has had to work with three different defensive coordinators in the past three years, something not many have experienced.

But the Seminoles have made the transition well, a feat that Williams attributes to the adaptiveness of his teammates.

“Oh, it's really just we've got the players. We've got some of the best players in the country, and we adapt well,” said Williams. “Trey (Marshall) came in early in the spring and he’s been doing real good, so he’s going to get thrown into the fire and really make plays.

"Also, Jalen Ramsey. He did a great job last year. Nate Andrews, he’s a great player that’s been improving a lot. And Lamarcus Brutus, Keelin Smith, all those guys are really going to have big years this year.”

With defensive stalwarts Lamarcus Joyner and Terrence Brooks now in the NFL, Williams has taken more of a leadership role on the defensive side of the ball, becoming more vocal in order to replace the departed players.

“I put that on myself, to just be a good leader to the team, and getting other players better, especially the younger players that are coming up,” Williams said. "you don’t pick a leader on the team. The leader has to come up himself.

“We have a few vocal leaders, and I’m one of those.”

Per his coach Elijah Brooks, Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha 2016 five-star defensive end Shane Simmons will announce his college decision on Wednesday, July 30, at 2 p.m. at the high school.

The nation’s No. 2 strong-side defensive end in his class according to 247Sports, Simmons recently named a top five of Alabama, Florida State, Maryland, Ohio State and Penn State.

“I definitely think all the programs are intriguing for him for different reasons,” Brooks said. “Shane loves Ohio State because of Larry Johnson and the product and defensive guys he’s put out. I think Penn State has definitely gained a lot of momentum in the last year with James Franklin. He has a connections with Sal Sunseri and Jimbo Fisher and loves the weather at Florida State, and fell in love with them from day one. Maryland is the hometown school.

“I definitely think Florida State is No. 1, but there are some others close behind.”

The Seminoles are also the 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite for the 6-foot-4, 221-pound Simmons.

Nigel Terrel is more than likely transferring. We had him as a back up fullback going into the season. Not a real L in my book.

I hope the FAU punter graduates this summer so we can give Terrel's scholly to him.

Josh Newberg stated that depending on how UF's season goes he thinks we could land both Byron Cowart and Josh Sweat.

And with that statement my d!ck is erect.

Jalen Ramsey was listed as a CB on the All-ACC ballot, but a lot of people said they voted him as a S. Wonder if that split the vote.

Jalen Ramsey is so good at disguising coverages even ACC Media don't know what position he's at.

Oklahoma State DC Glenn Spencer on Jameis Winston

Spencer already is stressed about dealing with Winston. "That's no fun when you look at a ton of film all summer and you're not getting any answers," Spencer said Wednesday. Spencer said Winston has Andrew Luck's size, Robert Griffin III's ability to escape the rush and Colt McCoy's leadership skills. "He has all the talent in the world," Spencer said. "He's so big. He doesn't get shook. He can take a hit in the backfield. He's not running around trying to avoid. He doesn't make bad decisions."

Quote from one of your commits Adam McLean

"Penn State is going to be at that level to win Big Ten titles, go to Rose Bowls and win National Championships. You talk about where Florida State is now, they are the National Champs. So now guys get an offer from them and are like wow, Florida State offered. In 2 years, Penn State is going to be where Florida State is at right now. A Penn State offer is going to be that offer that everyone wants, and you could have it right now. Florida State is going to be rebuilding and Penn State is going to be right where they were at.
"In fact, I gotta give Shane Simmons a call and tell him that right now."
