for whatever reason the old was was locked, maybe the post count? anyways lets start this off right........we makin new moves now....first ACCCG win in 7 years....first BCS win in a decade.....time to start a new run

Alabama may have won their second consecutive National Championship on Monday night, but they lost a prized commitment.

Four-star defensive endDeMarcus Walker switched his college choice on to Florida State. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Walker will enroll at FSU on Tuesday and will participate in spring drills starting in March.

Jacksonville Sandalwood head coach Adam Geis confirmed the news on Monday evening.

DeMarcus Walker committed to FSU on Monday evening.
"DeMarcus told me he committed to Florida State (Monday). He loved everyone at Alabama and it's a great school, but the main reason he was there is Jeremy Pruitt," Geis said of the Rivals100 prospect's decision. "Also, FSU it close to home and there is a great chance of seeing the field early. He has a lot of trust in both Sal Sunseri and Coach Pruitt."

So when did Walker, the nation's third-ranked defensive end and No. 34 overall player actually make his decision?

"It's actually been something DeMarcus has been thinking about ever since Coach Pruitt left. He is excited about it," Geis said. "DeMarcus called me to ask about what he needs to pack. He's thrilled about how everything worked out and ready to enroll early."

The relationship with Jeremy Pruitt was certainly key, but he didn't push for Walker to be a part of FSU's recruiting class. Instead, he left the choice in the hands of Walker. But Pruitt wasn't the only coach that played a strong hand in his recruitment.

"Both Coach Sal Sunseri and Coach Pruitt were huge for Florida State. DeMarcus built a really good relationship with Coach Sal," Geis said. "He loved his energy and his style of coaching. They are his two favorite coaches, so it's a perfect situation."

Walker becomes the 17th commitment for FSU's 2013 class and the second early enrollee. He fills a huge need at defensive end for the 'Noles as seniors Brandon Jenkins and Tank Carradine along with junior Bjoern Werner have will all enter the NFL draft.

FSU picked up two of the nation's top four defensive ends last season, signing Mario Edwards Jr. and Chris Casher. Edwards Jr. stared for the Seminoles late in the season after Carradine went down with an injury.

4 years of Tunsil>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 1 more year of Watson. I'd rather Tunsil start at RT next yr over Watson.

Unless its Black Jesus back there. I just pray Glauser grows some balls and Bobby Hart grows some fu*king work ethic

Just spoke to a source close to the Burton Burns situation. Despite reports of a decision, we have confirmed that Burns to Florida State is not a done deal at this time and FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher is currently waiting on a response to his offer from Burns.
We are hearing that it is "likely" (at this time) that Burns moves on to Florida State. However, it is not a done deal. Remember, these situations are fluid and can change quickly.
More details as they transpire.

Let's face it, things weren't going great for Florida State of late on the recruiting trail. Well, up until Monday night, anyway.

Amidst all of the turmoil that comes with multiple coaching changes -- and the loss of top recruiters at that -- the Seminoles had slipped a little bit. The class wasn't in a position to be in the top five, to which FSU fans have become accustomed in the last few years.

Florida State needed something big, something unexpected and something positive.

So, just like most college football fans on Monday night, the Garnet and Gold faithful tuned into the national championship game in Miami to watch an Alabama team thrash No. 1 Notre Dame. The last thing they would have expected is for the Seminoles to steal one of the top-ranked defensive linemen in the country from that same team hoisting the national championship trophy.

But that's what they did.

New defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, who coached for the Crimson Tide inside Sun Life Stadium, had been the lead recruiter for DeMarcus Walker (Jacksonville, Fla./Sandalwood) and was largely responsible for his impending enrollment in Tuscaloosa, Ala., this week. But as Pruitt left for Florida State, so did Walker.

By about the time Nick Saban and his team returned to the locker room to continue their celebration, Walker had made the flip to the Seminoles, becoming FSU's top-ranked commitment at No. 35 overall for the Class of 2013.

At 6-foot-4, 280 pounds, Walker will fit in with the likes of Mario Edward and Timmy Jernigan on the defensive line. In that sense, he wasn't tremendously important relative to need. What he is, though, is a signal. An injection of confidence and credibility not only for Florida State but for their new defensive coordinator.

The Seminoles might not swoop in and steal another coveted prospect for this cycle. They could even lose out on a guy like running back Alex Collins (Plantation, Fla./South Plantation).

But for now, the tide of negative perception has been stemmed, and, on the recruiting trail at least, Florida State fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Their new hire has already paid a dividend.

The question is whether or not it will continue leading into signing day, and if so, by how much.
