Harden struggled in the NBA Finals, tried too hard and slowly, surely unraveled over the course of the series. When the rest of the Thunder were celebrating a Game 1 victory over Miami in the locker room, Harden could be heard grumbling over too few shots (five), and too few minutes (22).

Veterans Derek Fisher and Perkins laid into Harden, telling him essentially: We just won an NBA Finals game and the last thing in the world that ought to worry you are your individual statistics. Harden apologized, but it was clear his mindset wasn't right. He never found his way back into a proper rhythm in the Finals.
That is some hoe a.ss sh*t Harden if true

for some reason reading this made me remember this

I think everybody knew Harden was unhappy in his role.I think that played a bigger part than the money.

u guys are fu*kin idiots sayin Houston lost

Kevin Martin if healthy and thats a big if will be good off the bench but he's not a play maker like Harden was

Jeremy Lamb will not get heavy minutes at all

and those draft picks are FUTURE picks

the Thunder are trying to win NOW and they just downgraded

why trade for the future when u can win now!!!

Houston had nothin to lose here, they have plenty of young talent to develop

i swear some of yall have no basketball knowledge at all

Why are so many people forgetting Maynor in this situation he was out the entire year basically so with Harden gone he will be leading the second unit and be the playmaker all they need from Kmart is to score off the bench for them efficiently whether he has a bounce back season or not remains to be seen...I still don't like the trade for both teams tbh giving Harden the full max 5 years 80 million is risky but i hope it works out for both sides

James Harden can draw fans??

6th man of the year candidate that was on the verge of becoming a household name

Fam the olympics and playoffs didn't help his case
Not disagreeing with you. But they feel he can. I personally doubt he can unless he becomes transcendent and he doesn't have that kind of talent.

giving up future picks and a potential star in Lamb for a 6th man? You think harden will become a top 5 player in the league or something? More L's coming in the future when nobody comes in FA next year :jayhah2:

how did they not win??? kevin martin knows his role and wont complain after sulking in houston

lamb CAN develop into something special plus he's on a rookie contract for 3 more years

and they get 2 first rounders 1 guaranteed LOTTO pick

all for a player who's replaceable???

how exactly is that NOT a win??
Lamb looked good in Summer League but plenty of players have looked great and bombed out. To be honest, I can see him doing really well because not a lot pressure to be the man or play tons of minutes. Just develop all season and hopefully grow into a good role player by the time postseason rolls around.

The 2 picks are nice but Dallas will be a later pick (Top 20 protected until 2017). Raptors should be in the 7 - 12 range most likely.

Martin is going to be the swing. He's expiring, 29 and probably wants to cash in one last time before he gets to old. He doesn't play man defense well but plays passing lanes pretty good but I see him on the bench in crunch time as they play Thabo for defensive purposes. Is Martin really going to be happy getting 25 - 30 minutes a game and limited shots when he needs a great season for a payday?

Like some others said, you are a championship level team adding Perry Jones and getting Maynor back. They are taking a big chance that Martin fits in.

They picked up Deandre Liggens as well. He will be good for a few good fouls and some solid defense when thabo is sitting down.

I agree with some of this. I don't care about Martin... but Lamb is nice, he could be a great player IMO. Didn't want to give him up. Martin was injured for a good part of last season too, so his health is an issue.

But yeah you're right, Rockets really have nothing to lose here. We've missed the playoffs for the last few years so it's not like this trade will make or break us.

I'm still not sure about this trade because now Harden will be a starter and we haven't seen how effective he'll be from coming off the bench in OKC to starting now.

So fu*kin glad we were able to keep Parsons and Jones. Really liking Jones, especially since we haven't had a decent big since Yao.

Harden better earn that max though

The didn't get Howard. They need an all star. That's not a basketball city...those fans aren't going to come out to watch that team as it was. Now they have someone to sell the fans even though he is really just a #2 guy on a title team.
not a basketball city how? we love our team in the h and houston has a thriving basketball culture and is a known hotbed for talent as well. you serious? dont let one or two years of down attendance fool you, that happens to a lotta cities

No you like your team. Your city sold out Reliant Stadium when the Texans sucked a.ss. During the McGrady/Yao era when the Rockets were winning 50+ games for 3 seasons straight the whole lower bowl was empty. If the Houston fans loved their team JVG wouldn't have given away a sh*t load of season tickets and spawned a group called the Red Rowdies.

You need to look up the history of your team in the mid-2000s bro.

Don't like K-Mart, glad he is gone. Lamb on the other hand, would've liked to keep him as a Rocket.

Overall, being able to keep Parsons, I'm not mad at this deal.

Sure, we lose some "future" pieces, but talent level is pure speculation at this point.

In return, we get someone we KNOW can ball @ this level, who improves our starting lineup immediately.

This trade should work for both teams.
