I wouldn't hire these people. If their only responsibility was to draw pretty photos for websites, then maybe. However, I would think "techy guy with no communication/talking skills" as soon as I saw these. I could care less about your little photos and graphs and bullsh*t, I want sentences and to be able to see how you structure words.. because communication is the most important thing in business. You may be able to photoshop it up, but can ya write a damn e-mail and spell?
No offense, but you obviously don't understand technical communication. Graphs and pictures help convey information better than words alone. Also the positions these people are applying for are art related. Graphics designers will definately be using art as well as words.

If you're in graphic design, this is good. If you're applying for a fresh startup company where the CEO is 20 something, this will work. If you're applying for a known organization, this might work, but probably not.

From my experiences, employers want you to tell them the most about you in the least amount of words. If you have a direct goal, some education and about 3 relevant work experiences, you are golden, even in this economy.

It's a gimmick, but sometimes gimmicks work.

lol, go in anywhere other than a (very informal)design firm with this sh*t and your sh*t gonna get tossed out on first glance. Hell I'd toss theses sh*t if I worked at a design firm because the sh*ts are too busy.

Many employers are said to skim over resumes and if the profiles don't catch them then they push it to the side. This is a lil complex so they might not know what to think. I think creative jobs would love this though.

this sh*t won't work for design, unless the studio you're applying to sucks a big bag of d!cks. Keepin' it simple and showing you can manage restraints and have strong foundation in typography is what employers look for in resumes/CVs from designers....these sh*ts make me mad.

Like others said, leave that silly stuff for your about.me page or something. The CV should outline work and be easy to read for the hiring manager who prefers his black and white printer to review candidates.
