50-Cents rap-career as a solo-artist has been one long downhill spiral in terms of popularity because he chose the path of division instead of unity.

Most rappers have catalogs that show a consistent fan base that support their albums but
50-Cent is a rare artist who loses a minimum 500K fans with each album he drops.

You can blame the sales decline on illegal downloading and adjust the figures based on the economy but the fact remains that a rapper went from 8 million fans to 500K fans over the course of 4 albums.
50 caked up. He dont care about anything, cause he can go 3x platinum on any given album. He didnt lose fans like that.

Man these rappers need to learn to leave Fif alone, the guy luvs to bully and French gonna find himself in a position where he ends up hurting himself with these comments

French talkin about 50 cents sales, dude is one of the highest selling rappers of all times, dont even mention sales, 50 had a great run, his second joint broke records with first week sales at the time.

He might not be musically relevant, but he is relevant as far as a brand and name.

Dont let Diddy and Ross put a battery in ur back and den find urself out there on ur own.

Im surprised French was that blunt about it. While beef played a part, that isnt what ultimately brought 50 down. His c*ckiness got the best of him in 07. His "beefs" starting becoming more about the stunts and antics then the music itself.

I knew a dude that book him when he was runnin with nas and bravehearts... Dude said 50 was mad humble...

My guess is he prolly see's a lot of fake "unity" and waveriding that he is not afraid to call as he sees... his downfall may have came however from rumors or the beef with the label em and dre

Why leave 50-Cent alone when Ross just proved that you can manipulate 50-Cent into boosting your rap-career? He's a perfect target because he has zero power in the industry, he's a rapper signed to a producer that's signed to Jimmy Iovine.

French Montana can pop sh*t because he's making Interscope more money than 50-Cent is and got a bigger buzz which is all Jimmy Iovine is concerned about.

The G-Unit brand is dead, they are behind TDE, OFWGKTA, Taylor Gang, Jet Life,
Strange Music, GBE, CTE, Bad Boy, Duck Down and all the other mid-teir labels in the game.

French Montana wants a release date.

To be honest, many artists across multiple genres tend to only have a run of 3-4 years max.

The only way to maintain longevity is to transcend and evolve musically.

There are a lot of factors at play with what happened to 50 though. His downturn was probably due in part to his division strategy but probably also because he wasn't really evolving artistically. So his core fans kind of moved on...

The beefs definitely didn't help him but there was definitely more to his downfall.

n*gga are you comparing G-Unit to Duck Down? You really smoking dust or something.

Duck Down was hot but G-Unit is fire.

I think 50 can push platinum and if he does then thats great for him, I dont think its really that hard for him to do .

Especially if he's got a record like Down on me, which has been on the radio now for over 2 years +

Karma bit that boy in the a.ss. He thought his white fanbase would give him an edge in 07 when he went head to head with an artist who's extremely more talented and put out extremely better music. The sh*t backfired. Irony and 50 go hand and hand. He took pride in supposedly ruining careers. Game shut down the entire G-Unit brand by himself. He took pride in reminding people how he surpasses them in sales. Kanye came through with no gimmick and waxed that a.ss. As I stated before; some rappers are born to do this while others have careers that rapidly decline once the gimmick runs dry.

Excellent observation.

Artists with longevity seem to either reinvent themselves or evolve artistically, I look at an artist like Andre 3000 who transformed and evolved to the degree that it boosted his career, or other artists like Emenim & Ludacris who switched up their comedic raps and showed maturity on their albums and prolonged their careers and got critical praise at the same time.

When the hype wears off and your teen fans become mature adults they are not trying to hear you rapping about the same ish.

can you agree

1. that 50 had beef with 90% of the industry & still managed to go 5X Platinum on an Album.. Ross is on good terms with 90% of the Industry & he can't even reach Platinum!!

2. 50 destroyed Irv, Rule & murder Inc. from existence!!! Ross cant even stand up to a random thug from Detroit named Trick Trick

3. After 50 goes Platinum 5X he then Stars in a Movie which made $46,442,528 worldwide.. after the movie he began his downfall!!! im sure he saw a lot more $$$ in other ventures within the entertainment industry

4. The year Curtis dropped 50 was starring in a movie with Robert Dinero & Al Pacino!!! and every year after that he was starring in at-least 3 Hollywood Films a Year (some low, some high budget).. safe to say 50 rather prove himself in different fields as opposed to rap.. Look at Lil Wayne for example, he putting off Rap & trying to do this Pro Skateboarding Career!! dude doesnt give a fu*k about rap anymore

5. 50 has sold more records in his career than Jay-Z... and Grafted isnt this the same guy who you trash every post since the night Gunplay got jumped?

50 Cent got the Largest debut in Hip-Hop History.

beefing with other artist is the competitive nature of Hip-Hop culture. It just so happen that hip-hop is going through some stuff right now. hip-hop is not as competitive as it use to be, everybody loves eachother and that's cool. but that's one of the missed elements of hip-hop today.

back then if n*ggaz like ray j and fab was beefin, nobody woulda gave a fu*k and clowned.

but since we don't get sh*t like this, it's like Christmas when we get it.

the streets have changed.

I use to love when d-block and state property would go at it.

or when 50 and Game when at it.

I think since the Ross BEEF w/ 50 and us being in the age of worldstar and twitter it has scared people to beef with eachother.

i thought EM edged out 50 for the Largest debut album in Hip-Hop History?

The decline of sale isn't because of beef. It more so that the game has gone soft and gangsta rap isn't the hot commodity it once was. "The television caters to pop, not violent hits".

When 50 does make some shoot him up sh*t, people say "he don't even do that sh*t anymore" which is true.

It's in the best interest of Ross to "unite" w/ everybody because he obviously ain't about that beef life.
