Even so, you'd still have a team or two playing outside of its geographical region. Indianapolis and Cincinnati (let alone any team above the Mason-Dixon) have no business being in a "South" division. The problem has more to do with the distribution of nfl markets than anything else. There's only 4 teams west of the Rockies (5 if you include Denver) and there's such a high concentration of teams in the mid-east/northeast region of the country.

Oh and the Redskins should be switched with the Bengals. It would make more geographical sense. There is nothing southern about Cincinnati, Ohio.

Keeping the same history of the sport up to this point, which divisions would be the most interesting based on this map? Least?
fu*k history, I like that better. Most of the rivalries would still be in play. You would lose Cowboys/Skins, Raiders/Chiefs but whatever. I'm not that hung up on those old Rivalries.

You would get new ones like Ravens/Skins twice a year. My Giants still have Philly and Skins. Bears/Pack would stay. The in state rivalries like Cowboys/Texans, Oak/49ers, Skins/Ravens (both stadiums are in MD) are a whole lot better to me.

Oh, one more thing. Major point you guys are missing. You are basing the toughness of the division on the way things are NOW. It's rare that teams stay dominant for years in the NFL. Yeah the Saints were good since Brees/Payton, but they werent contenders before that. Texans are good now, but what about 3 years ago. Sh!t fluctates, it is called parity for a reason. Imagine a NFC East in 2004 with the proposed teams (skins, ravens and Giants were all garbage that year), not so pretty huh? Bucs, Saints, Dolphins and Jags would have been pretty damn good in say '99 or '00.

really? three of those cities are bigger then where you stay
lol my dude, city limit population doesnt mean sh*t. It's about metro population that tells a city's true size.

If we only go by city limits population then:

1. Corpus Christi, Texas is bigger than Pittsburgh
2. Omaha, Nebraska is bigger than Miami
3. Colorado Springs, Colorado is bigger than Cleveland
4. Virginia Beach is bigger than Atlanta
5. Lexington, Kentucky is bigger than Cincinnati

now who the fu*k is gonna go to Omaha and Miami, and come away saying Omaha looks and feels like a bigger city? or that Lexington is bigger than Cincy, or VA beach bigger than ATL?

even though the latter, "smaller" cities have MILLIONS of more people in their metro area. It's a reason they are household names with pro teams and the "bigger" cities mentioned arent.
