damn n*gga two questions, if your brother robbed a bank then wtf was he doing getting a pd to represent him? Idgaf if i was dead broke, there's no way in hell that I would allow a pd to represent me when facing a serious charge like that..i'd find some way to pay a credible lawyer with a track record to take on my case..he should've known he was fu*ked by trusting a pd when he was looking at jail time if he was convicted, even if he had a clean record prior to the crime..i guess he was willing to do the time if my n*gga was willing to rob a bank w/no weapon..he must've really not gave a fu*k ..that sucks tho ....and what do you do dilla, that allows you to treat 3 bills like chump change by giving your bro an allowance every week? i'm curious
Lmao I work in it been doing it since 04 but been certified since 06. I have been saving 60% of my paychecks since I started working at like 15 so that's why I'm able to pay him. He had a public defender because he was always a hard headed a.ss n*gga and my mom always told him trouble so easy to get into but so hard to get out of and when he did get in trouble (he's been the fu*k up child all our lives lmao) that was the last straw for my mom she washed her hands with it. in a way it was the best thing for him to sit down for a few because that n*gga was doing too much too fast he's changed now but can't get a job lol.

Some PD's are fu*king excellent litigators and lawyers who would run circles a most private attorneys and prosecutors. The simple fact of the matter is most people gain nothing from paying a private lawyer as they are going to get the same plea agreement rather they have a pd or private, you just wasting your money really.
the key word being some..you don't hire a pd on the strength of some being good, especially if you're facing some serious charges..you want a laywer who isn't overworked like a muthafu*ka because of a sh*tload of cases he or she has to attend to..you want a lawyer who's going to give you the 1 on 1 time that an attortney and client relationship should warrant...basically you want to make sure that your lawyers head is in your case and he's doing everything in his power to represent you to the best of his ability...nobody with any sense would leave all those expectations to a public defender who's being a.ssigned to you by the judicial system..i'm @ most people gain nothing from paying a private attorney ..you must not know sh*t about what goes down in a court room or you must a.ssume that most people aren't facing serious charges, so they'll be pleased by a simple plea bargain ..besides a plea bargain is only as good as the lawyer representing you is

Yeah I believe cheeves because my brother case was similar they knew it was him and his wife and his wife's nephew but they couldn't prove it so they got a f*ggot a.ss cousin of mine to tell the story they wanted told in exchange for some money and he went along with it . Its the main reason his case stayed state and not fed because the story had too many holes in it my brother said he wasn't going to trial so he took the deal 12 years suspended after 6.

Worked in the Queens County court system for 5 yrs as a court liaison.

1.) Don't get arrested and you won't have to worry about shabby a.ss P.Ds fu*kin you over..

2.) You can get a paid lawyer who is just as lazy as a public defender..it's all about the person at the end of the day..

I've seen some private lawyers who were fu*kin worthless..

I've seen some P.Ds who have run circles around the prosecution..

Alot of P.Ds don't want to enter the private sector because $ begins taint their purpose of practicing law in the 1st place..think about it..they're willing to take less and help the general public, rather than select their clientele and charge large sums of guap..

You n*ggaz are over generalizing.. Just my two..carry on.
this

most of it comes down to the individual and their case and their history...you can't commit a violent crime, have a violent history and on top of it all,be in court lookin like you don' give a fucc AND expect the PD to work wonders...same goes for drug charges...PDs work for you just as much as they work for the court and if they can help you they will but don't expect to be a loud mouth hooligan with a history and no money and think you're getting off light with anything

Well if those witnesses didn't see you....how they know a middle aged person stole it back? If they saw your dad, maybe they seen you too? You won't agree, but why is that not possible since you are so sure they saw your dad. Even without that, they towed the car back from you.....your name is the same....they were 2 people who came got the car back.....it's kinda easy for the judge to make that leap to say....GUILTY.

Anyways, back to the main point.....how is this the PD fault? There is NO way there was a trial or any hearing for that matter where the court let you leave without signing your notice, courts just don't do that. That's why warrants are handed out, because personal notice was given. Since you had to sign your notice about your trial....maybe you should have been more alert as to what was going on. PD has hundreds of cases going on......the facts were not in your favor...and it's their fault?

jesus christ dude you need to learn how to read

SO let me get this straight.

You never was arrested, only a summons to your moms house. You stated the trial was about eyewitness testimony. If the trial was about eyewitness testimony that would mean you were not arrested, since they didn't arrest you, because you got away.

BUT.....if you were not arrested nor were you ever caught at the scene of the crime, what the fu*k your ID has to do with anything. I understand your mom address was on license, but how were they able to find out who you were unless they stopped you?

Furthermore, you stated during the trial it was about eyewitness testimony..... presumabluy it had to be a felony charge, well at least harsh enough to get jury trial. Your story doesn't make sense because you said at the end the judge said so & so. Now, I do understand you can have bench trials, but PD's never recommend that, they advise not to have bench trials. So, if you had jury trial.........why did the judge say anything about finding you guilty?

Also, if this was a felony trial.....your story doesn't make much sense even more so...."trials happen at the end of the day" when jurors must be selected.

Now, this could all be misdemeanor type sh*t....which would somewhat make your story at least make sense, but even so....what misdemeanor charge would call for eyewitness testimony.....especially with you never being arrested, but they had your ID?

And yes, I intern with the PD's office and will be a PD upon graduation so I do take the over generalization a bit personal. Perception is a dangerous thing
tried to debunk dude whole story.

pubic defenders, not a typo, are just that...pubes. they don't really help with sh*t. if you don't have a paid lawyer, you're fu*ked. period. they work for the courts so they aren't really going to fu*k with the courts on most cases. this justice system is just a system.
So so true!

and failed.

dude thought I was lying then after I broke it down he switched to trying to say what I already said: that I wasn't prepared, while trying to back up the PD. he must be a PD in training or some sh*t I swear

But chucky, yeah I did meet with the PD. He never told me anything about witnesses. He asked me about the incident and I told him It wasn't me who took the truck back, simply because it wasn't my car so why would I? He asked who took it, I told him, well who's car was it? Then he said "Okay" and told me he'd be in contact with me, then never talked to me ever again until my trial started It was pretty short, he basically walked me out of his office and the building the entire time while I talked. I could of forced more contact, that's on me (like you said, they're busy.) But still, dude had to of known they had witnesses and never told me. I got blind sided by there being witnesses. He should of asked me about the witnesses because I didn't even know there were witnesses but then maybe he thought I already knew.

But your point about him not being able to do anything because of not having facts or anything doesn't matter because all I was saying was he could of easily pointed out how the witnesses were contradicting themselves by saying I didn't match the description yet saying It was me they saw.

Seems like you're more interested in getting the last word my dude. All I'm saying is the PD didn't even swing when he had a hanging breaking ball right over the plate and just like it go by. It's not like I can do it for him, or tell him to refute that, the one time I did say something to him when the witness lied he quietly told me to shut up Basically saying, "You can't talk, that's my job." Dude sucked.

Three things now.

You said they towed your car, etc, etc. Who go through all the process of "which one was it....point him out"

Then you said they testified, but none of them seen you.....but you just said that they did and even pointed out from the pic it was you and not your dad.

Finally, how would you not be guilty from the evidence you just yourself pointed out. Basically, if they towed the truck + the people supposedly put you out as the ONE......what more need to be done? There was no need for any additional eye witnesses
idk where u are confused at but the people who towed the car initially were the same people who pointed him out to get the summons.

the others in the tow yard were the ones who didnt see him yet told the judge it was him.
