Folks talking about the price tag of the stadium need to understand that this was built smack dab in the middle of a shopping and residential district in New York City. Parts and labor cost twice as much out here and add in that they also had to account for disruptions in subway service and actually redoing the subway station. Be mindful that both of the new baseball stadiums were over the 1b mark, it just costs a lot more to build in New York.
And if I'm not mistaken didn't the islanders just try to hit Nassau up for a new arena last year? And they were actually trying to go along with it?
looks like Nassau just got jacked in crooklyn.
