If I play illmatic, people now a days still haven't caught up to it.... sh*t will go over everyones head still... i love biggys album but to me the majority of it just became corny... everywhere i go peoples mothers are singing juicy and the majority of the song (exaggerating but whatever) . reasonable doubt i love it, production is better then illmatic but with illmatic i feel like i hear something new everytime i listen...

and i never really fu*ked with 2pac albums other then makaveli

Reasonable doubt easily. I always look at Illmatic like a great demo. I like all the songs but "One love" and "Life's a bi*ch" are the only ones that I deem timeless. I never really fu*ked w/ MATW. Nowadays I only fu*k w/ "Shed so Many Tears", "Dear Mama" and "Old School" cuz he was talking some real NY sh*t. The rest sounds like typical '94 music. RTD was the biggest album out of the 4, but songs like the original "One more chance" and "Friend of mine" also have that '93-94 sound. I don't feel like that about any songs on rd.

Also Nas and B.I.G. were young dudes when they wrote their 1st albums. Pac kinda was too @ 22 even though it wasn't his 1st. Hov was 26, and was rapping from a more mature perspective on rd. The perpective of a real drug dealer who made big $$$ in the drug game. Since that's all you hear nowadays, I have to say rd has aged the best.

As far as I am concerned....and this is not a statement about which of these albums I listen to the most or believe to be the "best"......however the album that sounds by todays standards the "freshest" is without a doubt to me "Ready To Die". I think they all suffer from some old sounding tracks but I think RTD, mostly because of Diddy's influence sounds the least like a 90's album.

Reasonable Doubt sounds the most modern out of all 4 of them, so I picked RD.

Me Against The World was a close second tho.

Illmatic and Ready to Die are classic albums but there's no way you could say that they have aged as well as RD or MATW.

I'm a 2pac fan but
1. Ready to Die (Perfect Album)

2. Reasonable Doubt (Jay-Z's best album. Catchier songs then Illmatic. The stans would eat it up)

3. Illmatic (Might be my favorite album of all time especially after hearing it performed live but I don't think today's youth would like it.) :nasmad:

4. Me Against the World (My second favorite 2pac album. A little too deep to go pop and be played on the radio.)

My personal list would be

1. Illmatic
2. Ready to Die
3.Reasonable Doubt
4.Me Against the World

I'm 30 also. Took me till I was about 23 to hear. I promise if you liked 90's hip hop like Nas, Wu-Tang, Mob Deep and Biggy you'll love this album.

Listen to the remastered Illmatic. Sounds a little clearer. It might change your mind.
