Thank you...i have been saying this for the longest. College Dropout was enjoyable but Late Registration is better overall to me, LR is much more polished, refined and seems like more thought and versatility was put into it. He definitely avoided the sophomore slump with that one quality wise.
Yeah thats what i thought about it
The thing is people like to say debut album's are the best and can't be topped if they are great.

If College dropout was Kanye's 2nd album and Late registration was his debut then people would say LR was his best.

Big Sean is the best rapper on G.o.o.d Music

Bone Thugs N Harmony = overrated

Styles>>>>Jadakiss

Most of Jadakiss' Mixtapes/Albums aren't very good as a whole (he does have some great songs though)

Camron is wack now.

Eminem made decent beats.

Lupe is one of the 5 best lyricist ever.

Kanye has one classic album in College Dropout. Late Registration barely surpassed it in production, but in terms of overall concept, storytelling, lyrics, message, etc. College dropout was better.

MBDTF is in no way a classic. Just because Kanye extends the tracks to 7 minutes each and has at least 2 other rappers on every track doesn't make the album brilliant.

Eminem is among the best to ever do it..but purely on this board he's overrated just because of how much better than everyone else people claim he is.

Big Pun is one of the most underrated rappers on here.

Resurrection by Common is one of the best albums wordplay wise of all time and it doesn't get the credit it deserves.

Elzhi, Blu, Phonte >> Joe Budden

I'll think of some more later.

Yep

I expected LR to be nice before i listened to it but when i actually heard the whole thing i was a bit surprised, in a good way. Didnt expect to actually be that good. One of the few albums i've actually purchased and i was glad that i did

The thing is everyone will disagree but none of these people have listened to their 90s discography. I have and that sh*t was dope then, and it's dope now.

I will concede that as good as their 90s discography was their 2000-2009 era was just as bad.

elzhi > nas.....will probably get hate but i can listen to elzhi anyday over nas...i like his flow and wordplay better, obviously nas has classics under his belt and im still a fan but elzhi is on another level, IMO....

rap definitely isnt dead. with dudes like elzhi, reks, prince EA, jon connor, action bronson, kendrick, ab-soul, slaughterhouse, clear soul forces, drake, kooley high, spitta, hodgy beats, earl ETC in the game, rap cant be dead

all female rappers are NOT wack....alyssa marie, rapsody, jean grae, rah digga ALL DOPE

Can maybe agree with Phonte and El but not Blu. He has the capacity to be better than anybody in the game, but is too lazy and sporadic/not consistant.

To go along with the thread

1. People need to let go of the hope that 50 cent will ever be anything close to what he was

2. Same goes for Camron

3. Although Jay-z is one of the greatest to ever touch a mic, there are places that other greats like Pac,Nas, Em, Face, etc. could go with a song that Jay cant because of his too cool to feel emotions the way a normal person would persona. This sorta eliminates him from being the true GOAT

4. Theres something fundamentally wrong with the cliche "i dont listen to music to learn" when the average urban/non urban youth gets most of their behaviors, mannerisms, style, slang etc. from hip hop. I dont think people realize just how influential rap music is.

East Coast hip hop hit its peak in the 80s/early 90s sound-wise

Slaughterhouse makes boring music even though they are talented wordsmiths

Eminem is overrated in every way

Beyonce is unoriginal with everything

Industry heads troll with the Illuminati sh*t for sales

Jay Z is not the GOAT

Fans of hip hop show too much support for the South's garbage and neglect to show love for its talented artists.

Tupac was a great technical rapper and could readily outrap many of your favorites if confronted for a battle. He would shock many of you.

Some of these I need to go back and re-evaluate but:
TM101 and Trap or Die Is overrated

MBDTF is definetly a classic

Capital Punishment sounds like a rip off of OB4CL

Jay>BIG

Biggie and Eminem are overrated

French Montana is nice (deadass) old French tho in his b4 and Max B days new French is more/less a follow instead of what he's supposed to be a trendsetter

Meek Mill is underratted lyrically on here

Max B is a wack rapper but a dope hook writer

Jada is not top 5 dead or alive and is overrated

I also feel like all of Kanye's rap albums are classics

Life After death> Ready To Die easily

Biggies flow was perfected at this time and the production was top notch I love both albums but lad is big at his best

My opinions:

Meek millz = overrated flavor of the month

Rick Ross was dope up until last year then he got lazy and spits throwaway verses now and is just getting so many singles/features out on his name alone ala lil Wayne post-prison

Drake is prolly the best out right now mainstream and is carrying ymcmb

Only hipsters/Internet n*ggas like Kendrick Lamar cause he's weird and will hate him as soon as he blows up

Kanye starting to fall off with this Kim k sh*t and already spitting lazy

Don't really like 'mercy' cuz of that annoying chorus sound and ye verse was wack 2chainz saved the song

Tm 103 was terrible

90% of 2chainz songs have the exact same flow and I have no idea how he blew up but he gets hype sometimes and i like some of his sh*t.

I don't like original >>>>>>>>>>>>>> good music remix

Also, some of the best "technical" and freestyle rappers make some of the least enjoyable music.
