JASON KIDD’S late-night DWI crash turned his Cadillac SUV into a full-court mess.
Photos of the crumpled car showed how lucky the 39-year-old point guard was to escape alive from the scary late-night wreck in the Hamptons.
The hood was peeled back from the 2010 Escalade’s frame, with the vehicle’s windshield shattered and a driver’s side mirror dangling limply.
The right front tire sat flat on the ground beneath a snarl of twisted metal — twin reminders of Sunday’s 1:56 a.m. wreck in the Hamptons that snapped a wooden utility pole in two.
“That’s really his car? Wow,” said one NYPD vet who has 15 years on the force and has seen his fair share of car accidents. “I can’t believe Jason Kidd actually survived that. When I see an accident that bad, I expect at least serious injury, if not death.”
Kidd, who told cops that he “had a few drinks” before the wreck, was treated and released for minor injuries at Southampton Hospital.
A source told the Daily News that the newly signed Knick’s night started at a boozy benefit party where liquor flowed freely and bottles of red wine awaited at every table.
The brilliant point guard was among the guests at a Saturday night fund-raiser in East Hampton where the a.ssists went to a very attentive wait staff, according to the source.
“There was booze on every table, and the people kept bringing drinks,” the source told The News.
In addition to the wine, guests were treated to Malibu Red c*cktails — a potent mixture of tequila and rum, the source indicated.
The source said it was unclear how much the future Hall of Famer knocked back, but authorities said he was reeking of alcohol and slurring his words a few hours later.
The “Fostering a Legacy” benefit hosted by singer Ne-Yo broke up around 9:30 p.m. Kidd was joined there by fellow bold-faced names George Lucas, Arsenio Hall, new Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson and Paula Abdul.
Kidd was arrested about 41/2 hours later after slamming his white SUV into a pole — and knocking out cable service provided by the Long Island-based company of his new boss, Cablevision head James Dolan.
Wife Porschla Coleman zipped past reporters in her gray Mercedes without a word at the NBA veteran’s $6 million Hamptons home Tuesday.
