Good kid, m.A.A.d city is Kendrick Lamar‘s upcoming major label debut, to be released under Top Dawg Entertainment, Aftermath & Interscope. The hype surrounding this album indescribable. All three songs that have been released off this follow up to Section 80 have received critical acclaim beginning with the massively popular Dr. Dre collaboration “The Recipe” that dropped on April 3rd. A lot of people weren’t sure how K.Dot could follow up a track like that but he did not disappoint with the release of his second single from the project “Cartoons & Cereal” featuring Gunplay. Recently Kendrick has gone on to release a third single off Good kid, m.A.A.d city, “Swimming Pools (Drank)” which in my opinion is the strongest of the tracks we have seen so far. Others disagree though, as various blogs and tweeters have sounded off faulting the hook in their attempts to downplay the quality of the song. One thing is for sure, this Compton based MC is going to release a quality effort that the entire hip hop world will be paying attention
For the record, The Recipe was released after Cartoon & Cereal.
