That's the beauty of something we call "team" defense. Ray can easily be hidden scheme wise, and Lewis won't see that many minutes to begin (probably minimal when the game is on the line -- UD or Battier will eat those clutch minutes at the other forward spot next to LeBron) with unless he returns entirely back to form.
It didn't matter when Mike Miller was on the floor, and it won't matter when Ray is.
Just like Dwight Howard -- when you've got LeBron James on the floor going all out.... your defense is going to be great regardless. Not to mention Dwyane Wade and Shane Battier/Udonis Haslem are damn good defenders themselves, and Chris Bosh has proven to be an incredibly underrated defender.
Miami's defensive scheme is just the best in basketball.
