Sensei is a metaphor for your conscience. You've never had an introspective conversation with yourself about the universe, the purpose of life, love, death, your place in the world, etc? He's arguing with himself, going back and forth, ending with "nothing mattered" cause it probably doesn't. Outside our little subjective experiences, there's probably no answer to the "why" question about life and our place in the universe.
It's a pretty dope soliloquy. And I'm not surprised it goes over your head if you're paying attention to whether or not he's saying man/woman girl/boy she/he and not the content
Reffering to the "regular guy" line earlier, he's saying if he was a regular gut it would work out.
