Oh, word? 3 n*ggas being on a team for multiple years together (2 Chips) with a Pass First pg added to the mix has LESS chemistry than a team that JUST picked up 2 Superstars/Allstars that hasn't even played on the same court together? Not to mention, Nets weren't even a playoff team last year. You have no support for that statement just yet.
I think our pieces would have potential to compliment each other better. elite point guard, elite scorer on the wing, B+ gel guy on the other wing who can rebound and defend other teams best scorer, shot blocker and rebounding monster inside.. 2nd best overall player in the league

Can't take away what LA has been building for years and the familiarity, Nash aside but he will adjust very quickly he's had plenty of roster shakeups and he's a chameleon on the floor.

none of our players share the same floor space tho and each know their role which makes the potential so intriguing

Not sure y ur talking. Ur in the same position as the Mavs. Lakers did nothing the last two years. Thus actually hurts the lakers. at thinking they can compete with nets now
What? The Mavs have been clearing cap for the last two years to get Dwight and DWill and will get neither. You guys lost Jason Terry and Jkidd and gained Mo Williams. Meanwhile the Lakers so far have kept KB24, Pau, and Bynum and added Steve Nash without losing anyone from their core three.

Why would it be important for the Lakers to "compete" with the Nets they play in the East LA plays in the West

Cavs, Bobcats out of Howard deal

2:50PM ET

Dwight Howard | Magic

Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio reports that Cleveland has backed out of the rumored deal with the Magic and Nets centered around Dwight Howard, a development also confirmed by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Charlotte is the other team that's been mentioned as a possible third trade partner, but at this point our own Ric Bucher reports that the Magic are also exploring other possibilities.

In addition, Ken Berger of CBSSports.com writes that sources indicate the Bobcats are "not in the mix" as the third team in the deal.

What to make of all this? Wojnarowski tweets that sources indicate "if Brooklyn and Orlando are to make a deal for Howard in near-term, it will likely be a trade between the two teams."

According to Bucher, other possible trade partners include the Hawks -- a team that has cleared tons of cap space -- as well as the Lakers, Rockets and Warriors.

The Nets have been engaged with Lopez’s representatives on a maximum contract extension, and if they feel like the possibility of acquiring Howard is slipping away, they’ll likely move to complete a deal with the restricted free agent in the next few days.
The Magic received medical reports on Lopez on Tuesday morning, and league sources said Orlando officials have concerns about committing four years of near-maximum contract money considering that he broke his foot twice last season and only appeared in five games.

If this thing was about the Magic getting the "best deal" Howard would have been a Laker weeks ago. I see nothing but a bluff here.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are no longer willing to be third-team facilitators for a blockbuster trade that would send Orlando Magic All-Star center Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets, severely jeopardizing the Nets' ability to acquire Howard, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Dwight Howard has indicated the Nets are the only team he will re-sign with after the season. (Getty Images)
The development has pushed the Magic to continue negotiating with several teams, especially two teams in the Western Conference: the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets.
The Rockets could be the most intriguing possibility for the Magic because they can satisfy Orlando general manager Rob Hennigan’s desire to get multiple draft picks and unload significant salary off his payroll. The Lakers have the one player, Andrew Bynum, that Hennigan covets, but Bynum hasn't committed to accepting an extension in Orlando, nor do the Lakers have the salary-cap space or ready access to draft picks.
Brooklyn needed Cleveland to take free-agent forward Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade deal, so the Nets could clear the necessary salary-cap space to absorb the contracts of three Magic players, including Howard, Jason Richardson and Earl Clark.
[Related: Deron Williams has hoped to play with Dwight Howard for years
Several league executives with knowledge of the negotiations believe the small-market Cavaliers had become sensitive to criticism they were contributing to the construction of another big-market super power.
Brooklyn has left the Magic with several scenarios of direct deals between the two teams, but with the moratorium on free-agent signings ending on Wednesday, the Nets are losing the ability to keep their own free agents needed for a sign-and-trade with Orlando – Brook Lopez, Humphries, Damion James and Shelden Williams – from seeking out deals elsewhere in the league.
The Nets have been engaged with Lopez’s representatives on a maximum contract extension, and if they feel like the possibility of acquiring Howard is slipping away, they’ll likely move to complete a deal with the restricted free agent in the next few days.
The Magic received medical reports on Lopez on Tuesday morning, and league sources said Orlando officials have concerns about committing four years of near-maximum contract money considering that he broke his foot twice last season and only appeared in five games.

lets say d12 is all about athleticism what if his lift goes and he has no back to the basket game compared to byum, bynum has no athleticism like d12 but he has a back to the basket game to fall back on when his knees go/lift
