About time you installed a stock Android OS ROM. I personally prefer CM10. Cyanogen is usually more polished and stable. AOKP has a sh*tload of extra settings though.

Custom ROMs are the way to go though. No need to wait on Samsung or any other manufacturer to release updates. As soon as 4.2 comes out, AOKP and CM10 will have 4.2 within a few days to a couple of weeks.

What would, ld y'all suggest as the most stable JB ROM out right now?
If you have Sprint or T-Mobile the official stock Jellybean update is the most stable.

From what I've read, the AOKP is the best JB Rom out... CM10 still has flickering issues.

To be honest, I was extremely hesitant to ROM but I've read that the AOKP is near flawless. On top of that, ATT recently released an update that I couldn't get and my phone was refusing to update, so I wasn't happy about that.

I'm not sure if ROMing is the way to go if you just want a solid phone with the least headaches... worrying about Kernels and all that. Most ROMs have little bugs here and there... so I'm generally not down with that. Also, before the most recent update, AOKP had flickering issues... I'm not sure I still would have ROM'd my phone if it was still an issue. AOKP seems to be the only JB ROM without flickering issues at the moment.

But yeah stock is much much nicer.. I can actually use the standard messaging APP.

Samsung's is fu*kin TERRIBLE...

Samsung's messaging app was doodoo on ICS. I was using Handcent instead. Samsung stepped it up on Jellybean, added some nice customization options so I've been using the stock app for now.

I used GoSMS Pro.

What is your reason to not but using a stock JB ROM?

I don't have a need for an AOSP ROM now. On older phones you had to flash another ROM in order to have decent battery life. On the S III, this is simply no longer true. I'm on the official Jellybean update and get 4 hours of screen time a day and still have 15% - 30% when I plug it up at night. On top of that, I don't want to lose some Touchwiz features by going AOSP. AOKP is definitely the way to go if you're flashing AOSP ROMs though.

Sprint. I kinda want to install the most barebone version of JB.
Well you have options. I would suggest AOKP if you're going the AOSP route but the official Jellybean update is the most stable if you're worried about stability.

AOKP has far more customization than CM. I don't even know why dude is tellin you about his build of CM10. He doesn't even have an S III.

Aokp had horrible battery life and constant wakelocks for one, I really hated their custom graphics too-- especially the status bar toggles and the boot ani. I wasn't feeling whatever font they used either.

I only had an unofficial build though, hopefully my phone gets official support soon

Not sure what status bar toggles you're talking about... the boot animation is horrible, but you can turn it off.

You should probably clarify next time you're not talking about the GS3 in the GS3 thread...

Yeah. I'ma probably go with the official. Don't wanna worry about stability and random battery drains due to stability issues. Ill look into both. Though. Def not going CM10. CM7 on my OG EVO was nothing but headaches
For what it's worth, on at ATT S3, people have reported some really good battery life experiences...

Why not just try both?

You do realize that all AOKP builds aren't the exact same, right? Some phones have quirks that others don't. Why are you even in the S III discussion thread when you don't even own the phone.
