An app launching itself and running itself in the background... like why is Music player always running?
I have 3 twitter apps and all them running in the background at all times. Fantasy football...Yahoo News..... why the ufck does this sh*t stay on in the background? S suggest?
I mean the list goes on.
Your music player shouldn't launch itself. It should only be running if you used it at some point. The other apps you mentioned are syncing for updates. You can tell them to stop auto-sync but then you wouldn't get notifications until you launched the app.
Certain services are needed for the OS, they don't start immediately when you first boot but once they start you can't close them out of memory. Android is optimized to use high amounts of memory. It's not necessarily a good thing to close the memory often, unless you think you have rogue apps.
If you think you have something running that's k!lling battery, download BetterBatteryStats and let the phone sit for 15 minutes, off the charger, with no activity. That will tell you what apps are potentially keeping the phone awake by running in the background.
