Highly disagree.

Exactly what I'm saying

1939 was a beautiful year for movies as well as 1994.

Ignorance in here is astounding

Especially from BlackNitro, not even tripping on the other posts I quoted because they don't know any better but BlackNitro? lol....

Like I said step up your movie knowledge, I don't need a movie critic to tell me sh*t. I love watching old films, modern films, black & white films, silent films, just movies in general. The fact that none of you could intelligently disagree with what I said says a lot more about you then me.

What's even funnier is I hardly see any of the posters in this thread, in the movie section unless it's about a action film or a comedy film.
Old movies are garbage compared to todays movies

Take it easy. It's all good. If u wanna ride for 1939, go ahead and do with u do. Everyone get laughed at every now and then.

Personally, I find it very disturbing and offensive to hear a black person say that the best year in cinema is 1939. What does that say about our people? What does that say about our people's involvement in the film industry?

But if 1939 is your tea, then do u.
Listen I cannot bear to sit down and watch a film from 1939 but your reasoning is fu*king retarded.

This thread is a.ss. I thought it was gonna be something enlightening. One dude mentioned Let Me In. WITF? That sh*t was underrated because it was bullsh*t. I know all the best movies don't come out in the same year but some of the sh*t mentioned was like MEH. Not everything because there are some obvious classics mentioned but the others are far reaches. Animal Kingdom, Ghost Writer? Come on son. I'm on my cell phone so I can't do too much research but I know its gotta be better years out there.

Animal Kingdom is easily one of the best movies of the past several years.

I can, its the best Scorsese movie, I heard he was pretty good at making movies. There are soo many really good superhero movies. Dark Night is one of the best, but how bout Ironman? Came out in the same year and is almost as good. Haven't seen Avengers yet, but there are just so many good ones Dark Night is just one of many, talk about overrated...

Die Hard and Heat are my two favorite pure action movies, Dark Night is one of the best superhero movies, not one of the best action movies.
If you surveyed 1,000 people walking the streets there is a 100 percent chance that more people would have The Dark Knight in their top 10 movies of all time then there would be people who have Taxi Driver in their top ten.

People prefer newer movies, and it's not really that confusing as to why. Get over yourself.

Die Hard is the quinessential action movie dude, pretty much defined the genre. I know about Terminator, I look at that as more sci-fi/action. I know how many great flicks Scorsese has made, but Departed and Casino are not on the same level as Taxi Driver. The others you mentioned are, but not quite as good imo..
I'd suggest The Departed to an average movie fan over Taxi Driver any day of the week.

Ironman was a very different style than Dark Night, but objectively speaking they are on the same level of quality, and came out in the same summer I believe. The Dark Night is one of most over-rated movies as far as people on the internet talking about movies. I loved it, but aside from Heath Ledger stealing the show, it was just a very good super hero movie, which there are many, many, many of. You seen Batman Begins? ALmost as good.
of course, because of it when tha time it came out.it pretty much ramped up tha genre from explosions, and added great acting
departed is great movie and has visuals to match, same wit casino.but i dont really hav a beef wit people sayin taxi driver is betta

what did u get out of dark knight and what did u think it was about?
iron man is immediately disqualified due to a generic a.ss villain.there was just nothin more to tha story.i think people only like it cause it was a super hero movie that didnt suck
