Ya'll do know that the internet existed long before the 90's right? The internet was pretty much run by news/discussion groups, which you didn't need web browsers for. Mostly based out of colleges/universities. Look up Usenet

These are not even hard to believe if you've watched any old a.ss NBA tapes with commentary +analysis, or read sports newspaper archives.

Before the 1996 season began
Michael Jordan is not the best player to play game. In fact he was always
an overatted player. The only reason his PPG was so high was he is such
a BALLHOG. He is always taking contested double team shots insted of
passing to open teammates. Sure he hit a couple of great shots to win
series(Cleavland), but if he wasn't such a BALLHOG he wouldn't had to
take the game winning shots. This year just proves my point, his first
game back he takes 30 SHOTS???? Come on, he isn't that good, if anyone
should have been taking 30 shots that game, it should have been Reggie
Miller. He may have won three championships, but the 3 teams the Bulls
beat weren't that great. The Lakers were at the end of their Showtime
era and without Kareem and with Vlade when they were beet by the bulls.
The Portland Trail Blazers were show-stoppers either, the best team they
may have beaten was Phoenix. I would have liked to seen them beat some of
the Celtic, Laker, and Piston teams of the 1980's in finals.

oh really?

Look at Portland. They could have drafted Michael Jordan, but they took Bowie instead. Everyone said that they were making a mistake. No mistake. Portland needs another guard like it needs a hole in the head. Yes, Jordan has had a great rookie season, but Bowie has done well and the Trailblazers are looking strong for the playoffs.

Ward Christensen coined the term "Bulletin Board System" as a reference to the traditional cork-and-pin bulletin board often found in entrances of supermarkets, schools, libraries or other public areas where people can post messages, advertisements, or community news. By "computerizing" this method of communications, the name of the first BBS system was born: CBBS - Computerized Bulletin Board System. During their heyday from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s, most BBSes were run as a hobby free of charge by the system operator (or "SysOp"), while other BBSes charged their users a subscription fee for access, or were operated by a business as a means of supporting their customers. Bulletin board systems were in many ways a precursor to the modern form of the World Wide Web, social network services and other aspects of the Internet.

I posted something on USENET selling something, and now it's on Google groups.

Check for proof:

The difference between a Usenet newsgroup and a Google Group

Usenet is an online bulletin board system that began at Duke University in 1979. Usenet users can post messages to newsgroups that can be read (and responded to) by anyone who has access to the system through a newsreader. Over the years, the number of newsgroups has grown into the thousands, hosted all over the world and covering every conceivable topic.

Google Groups contains the world's most comprehensive archive of Usenet postings, dating back to 1981. Google Groups eliminates the need for a newsreader and lets you search this archive the same way you'd search on the web. You can also use Google Groups to post your own comments to an existing Usenet newsgroup.

One of the main differences between a Usenet newsgroup and a Google group are the management options available for Google Groups. While some Usenet newsgroups may be moderated, all Google groups have a group owner who can add multiple managers if needed. The group owner or manager has the authority to remove offensive posts, ban disruptive members, and restrict access to the group.

The easiest way to distinguish between a Usenet newsgroup and a Google group is by looking at the group's name. The different parts of a newsgroup's name are always separated by a period, for example, rec.food.cooking. You can learn more about the type of group that you're viewing by clicking the "About this group" link on the right-hand side of a group's homepage.
