Children huh? So what forced Kobe to shoot that percentage? Was it his excellent decision making and forcing himself to take contested jumpers? Or was it because "no one else could make a shot?" Kobe certainly wasn't either, believe me, I watched the whole series. Fall back.
Yes he is forced to take some of those shots. If the shot clock is on the last 5 seconds what should he do. Look to get up a shot, or pass it to someone else to force them to catch and release a horrible look? Fact of the matter is, coming from a guy who hasn't missed a Lakers game in 9 years, even when Kobe doesn't play, the Lakers get into offense way too slow. Point guard walks the ball down the court, picks it up and passes it to the big man outside of the 3 point line(usually Pau). The PG now runs to the corner and sets the screen for the SG or the SF(usually the SF) The big then throws the ball to the guy coming off of the screen. He catches the ball and looks for the post(Usually Bynum). If he doesn't feel like he has to angle for the pass, he'll most likely swing the ball back to the top(Pau again). He will turn and throw it to Kobe(85% of the time no matter what) and try to set the screen. Kobe might wave it off, he might take it. But now we are looking at the last few seconds of the shot clock so whatever Kobe decides it has to be a strong move that will get up a half decent look against the shot clock and a play that took too long to look for the first option, and couldn't get it in to him. He will most likely miss the sh*t and result in higher shots per game and lower field goal percentage than he would shoot if the offense was A: faster starting. B: Someone other than Kobe and Pau could make a successful entry pass to the post. or C: Pau would be more aggressive seeking his shot and not forcing it to Kobe for those late shot clocks.

Not to mention Bynum has a hard time getting post touches due to no floor spacing with Pau standing at the top of the key and his man is kinda playing off into Bynum's lap and Ron/Barnes and Sessions inability to make the outside shot. If that was different Bynum would get more touches and Kobe would get fewer.

Also teams that double(or front obviously) Bynum will completely k!ll his rhythm to the game. So that will leave busted plays with the ball finding Kobe's hands to try and hit the bailout shot.

If this team had some shooters, and a point guard that can actually set up the offense and Kobe or Pau didn't have to do it. You'd see Bynum really dominate, and Kobe play a lot more efficiently.

But of course I don't know sh*t about the flow of the Lakers offense because I'm not a boxscore warrior. I only watch all of the games.

I promise you.... It is NOT that serious.
The LA Lakers is a one man team
Just like the Heat are a three man team.

Kobe tried a.ssisting, Bynum and Gasol chucked up boulders all night. If you watched the series, the only game Kobe DIDN'T go inside with those two was 5, and that's AFTER Gasol blew the toilet in 4 with that stupid pass out when Kobe fed him a potential 10 footer.

Stop it please Kob has no legit superstar to play with, Lebron does, Jordan did, Garnett does, Duncan does, Durant does, Period!

dont like the a.ssists stat, only because, it's based upon your teammates doing something.

you can throw a HORRIBLE pass, to a person is tightly defended and has no open shot, and they throw up a shot and make it....and you have an a.ssist.

People who watch certain games/players see if they make good passes or not, regardless of what the player does after he catches the pass.

After Kobe retires the media is going to have a field day tearing apart his legacy. Hell they already writing articles about how he's not really that clutch.

Gasol's FG% in game 5: 35.7%
Bynum's FG% in game 5: 40%
Kobe's FG% in game 5: 54%

Generally your teamates make baskets mamba ouch chere chuckin an still shootin a high percentage. his team shot below 35% lets see you try to get an a.ssist with your team jockin up brick after brick after brick.

cant get much of a rhythm if you arent getting the ball watching ur teamate should 33 times a game. its called penetrate and dish so ur bigs get a layup, not chuck up 33 jumpers.
