I'm following Wale on Twitter, he dropped those Vlogs and I watched them, now I shared them, doesn't take research just takes memory.

I mean TECHNICALLY you could tie the ENTIRE MMG movement to the HBCU experience in some way. I agree with Grafted though that outta them all i would choose Wale because he devotes alot of his marketing to the HBCU crowd.

Anyways ur just splitting hairs to make a point.

i'm not splitting hairs i'm just trying to see wtf all this "wale is a college rapper" mess is from. because he visited a few schools and do shows that most rappers do now he represents the hbcus.

he just a regular arrogant dude that raps. y'all just looking too deep in a normal group cover.

Dude might actually be stupid, I hought he was just desperate for attention.

But yeah I think Wale covers that base too because of his subject matter.

He's not flipping Ki's and shooting negroes and doing the luxury rap, he's more into the sports, sneakers, and relationships which is what the average brother and sister can relate to moresoe than the street raps.

It's a simple concept to grasp but squares and outsiders probally still don't get it.

Are you stupid? A nerd? A troll?

Is it difficult for you to overstand what it means when we say a certain rapper can cover a certain demographic with their music?

who called Wale a "College rapper"?

They should have filmed a video there like Wale did for "The Breakup Song", so yea you trippin.

You ain't saying nothing, just proving how clueless and white-washed you are.

Thank heavens we got actual bruthas on here who have the cultural overstanding to understand what "covering bases" means when we talk about demographics.
um im from dc, and went to howard, they kinda liked him, but they werent pressed for him like a lot of other artists...so no ur trippin. he TRIED to appeal to them. they liked like 3 songs from him. they like travis porter, gucci, jeezy, 3 stacks, big krit, wayne, drake, big sean. wale doesnt really make the cut in terms of hbcu. Wale tries his hardest to rep dc, mostly because he isnt from their but wants the city to respect him for trying to get the dc more exposure. All you got is a theory, I live around this sh*t.

its like n*ggas got theories, and if you dont agree they try to shoot you down.

you pinned it perfectly, he is just a regular arrogant dude that raps.

i aint mad at him for rapping, im saying how the hell can anyone be an "hbcu" rapper. i guess jay z and ludacris are hbcu rappers because they mentioned howard. Do you even know how many videos been made at howard? just because they mention one hbcu dont mean sh*t. n*ggas making these long a.ss theories and sh*t about market mass appeal, only to find out none of that sh*t matters. Who does Ross appeal to?Name Stealing fat c.o n*ggas? Who does Omarion appeal to?gayS?

A whole theoretical deposition on one man's PIECE of marketing is going overboard!

No one is calling him a "college" rapper. All that's being said is he appeals to the individuals you would normally see in the audience of a college step show. You can't deny that

i'm going to tell you why people are saying what they are saying.

you said earlier that each rapper represented something.

meek-street
stalley-blue collar
wale-hbcu

now i can understand meek with the street. stalley with the blue collar thing. especially since his thing that he has is called blue collar gang

you basically labeled wale as a hbcu rapper which me and a couple of other people don't think that is true

also people were getting on you about omarion because nobody thinks west coast when they hear about him. They think of r&b. The posters are also from there so that might be another reason

Why don't you quote my actual post so I can make a fool out of you.

 justinjones said:
but what is his actual music really meant for? regular people. to just put his music in a box just for college demo is a disservice to him. I know just as many people that didn't go to hbcu or even a college that listen to him
Like I said, I don't think you are really this stupid, so it must be attention-seeking.

I simply named the 3 main demographics and the rappers from MMG that could cover those demographics the best.

I also noted that they have an artist from every regional demographic being represented.

You nerds over-think things too much.

I'm waiting for the next nerd to say this:

"Dude what the fudge is a streets-rapper"?

"Hey, people in College listen to Meek Mill so how is he a sideWalk-rapper"

"You put Meek Mill into a box"

"Hey dude I don't look at the album cover and think about were they are all from so why did you even mention that"?

 D1nOnlyMrM@ said:
your point is invalid because HBCU's like each of those rappers

not to mention, meek mill is in dc way more than any of the other mmg artists. Hell he had his birthday celebration WITH howard students...so what are you saying? again, just because you THINK something doesn't make it true.

And just because you are older doesn't make you smarter either.
I'm not talking about all rappers, I'm talking about the rappers in MMG.

each rapper I named has music that appeals to a certain demographic more than others and each rapper caters their music accordingly.

some rappers like Meek rap alot about the streets
some rappers like Wale rap a lot about partying & girls

If I had to pick one of them to cover the college demographic I'd pick Wale.

Gunplay is the #1 Capo of the click no doubt.

The clique and the cover had to cover all bases....peep the science:

Meek = East
Rozay = South
Omarion = West
Stalley = Midwest

Wale = the HBCU's
Meek = the Streets
Stalley = the Blue-collars

MMG is the Afrikan-American experience, the Black family...

Gunplay will be a part of the project, we cant neglect our Latino brothers.
